Worth the money, don't buy from the big box stores! February 26, 2010 Eric I watched a friend by Monster cable HDMI for $90 a Best Buy. I promised myself I wouldn't spend that much. I was pleased to see Amazon offer their own brand. I knew if there was a problem, I could send them right back! So far so good. I've connected it to my PS3 and everything seems perfect. I have about 1 week of use (maybe 2 hours of actual time). I've been meaning to try a movie on it.
I would buy again for sure. I may just buy some more and have them laying around.
Great cable, great price. February 26, 2010 John E. Katt (Jupiter, Milky Way) The cable works flawlessly, couldn't be happier. Shipped in an easy to open box, no hassles whatsoever. If I ever need more HDMI cables in the future, I will not hesitate to buy these.
Why buy the expensive ones. This one works great. February 26, 2010 Rob K (Gloucester, MA USA) I have two of these cables in action at the moment. One connects my TiVo HD to my Samsung LN52B550, and the other connects my Cisco Cable box to it. I have had them for about 2 months and I have had no problems at all. I'm not sure why anyone would pay $30 for a cable, when these seem to work well.
A money saver! February 25, 2010 Lenexa Lenny (kansas) Thanks Amazon, for saving me at least $50!!
I bought 2 of these cables @ $5.90 each. The cheapest Wal-Mart had was $29.99 and the cheapest at Best Buy were $39.99 each. As everyone else has stated here, there are no difference between these and high-dollar cables.
Bottom line : they work and are quality made.
Buy these today!!
good quality, head won't fit in SMURF tube / low-voltage conduit February 25, 2010 mboard182 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This seems like a fine cable. I tested it side by side with my Panasonic blue-ray and plasma against several generic and brand-name cables I have. Among this and my other 'high-speed' rated cables I was not able to discern any differences at 1080p, even in high-bitrate scenes (One of my tests was scenes of Transformers the movie)
The only negative is that the plastic head around each plug is slightly larger than typical - if you are just plugging this into a TV, etc, then this is irrelevant, but I wanted to pull this through smurf tube (aka Carlon-brand low-voltage flexible conduit for residential properties).
The head is TOO LARGE to be crammed into smurf tube.
A Computer Engineer's OPINION...
My opinion as a computer engineer (based on the evidence I have seen as I follow the industry), is that the only claims you should pay attention to are those (A) advertising compliance with a certain standard (eg ISO xxxx, or the CEA's hdmi 1.3a high-speed standard) or (B) advertising improvements that have been validated with published **DOUBLE BLIND** tests.
Of course, feel free to pay for aesthetics, look and feel, etc - as those are the properties you can evaluate by looking a 'nice cable'.
