If you want a fast pace shoot first and ask questions last blood brawl, then this game is a must have. The game has impecable graphics and action at every turn. To fully enjoy those graphics you need to get an HDMI TV and cable to really get all the game was ment to give. As far as game play goes there are not to many down sides. You travel from stage to stage with an objective in mind and you crush any opposition that comes your way. The multiplayer part of the game is by far the best I have every played. Even better than the All Great and Mighty HALO (Yes, I said it). Like most players I know including myself, once you beat a game you throw it in the draw for it to collect dust or go trade it in for another one, but this game keeps you coming back for more and more. I have already beating this game yet I keep playing it, its that good. The only down sides to the game is the ending of the game, the time it takes to get a group of people to play on multiplayer (of course this may be due to some technical issues with the host or connection to the internet, not real sure), and the tedious riding of tanks, wierd ell looking thing, or Hum V looking things. To me when you have to ride these things and shoot its just not fun to me. I like running around and use strategy to kill enemies. Sniper for instance. All in All a great game, but even the greats have their down points. I had to give this game a 5 star rating.

I dont understand these bad reviewers, unless they are just entering puberty and battling pimples and are nookie starved. I was engrossed in the game from the start to the end, the visuals were stunning, many times I wud jus stop playing and look around the envirement in awe. Getting swallowed by giant worms and sea creatures was totally wicked and having to cut ur way our was so cool. Finally finding Dom's wife and seeing her as a mutant and then Dom having to kill her to save her more pain, was a tear jerker, seriously. The cut scenes were great and so was the heart pounding monster battles. Now with used games available and price drops the game is a must have. So if ur not swayed by angry acne scarred adolesents, then grab this game and have some serious fun.

the campaign is totally epic, and relly fun and creative. lots of humor. the multiplayer is good about 70% of the time, the rerst you lag so badly you cant tell whats happening. lots of glitches, ive found 3 and im only level 27. BUT WHEN ITS NOT LAGGING THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER! I used to love halo and cod but since i played this i havnt touched those games

The campaign, I should open with that. Games that are not explicitly online multiplayer (e.g. Battlefield series) should have a strong campaign that is more than a extended training system for multiplayer. I often felt so frustrated when I couldn't get past a part (Driving the tank across the ice while being bombed) after several tries that I had to put the game down and play something else or just read a book. While the story was much better than I had expected, it left a lot out and sometimes just made no sense (The lab... did the humans create the Locust? I couldn't tell).
The game play was ok, there was enough variety in weapons to be fun without being confusing (Though I played most of the game with only the chainsaw gun and sniper rifle, occasionally a grenade but never a pistol unless I ran out of ammo for everything else) but the game just felt lacking. I know, vague, but much of the game played the same way; get under cover, fire until everything is dead, find next cover, repeat. The few times when you were given a chance to ride in/on something ended quickly and at times mind numbingly frustrating. The ending was a little blah, circle the super-monster-bomb while it was bombarded by orbital satellites until it exploded, not that interesting considering you were riding that monster before it decided to mutate.
Multiplayer is just boring. The game systems function great against the AI but when playing with other people it again was slow and often a situation of who had the biggest gun or brought a friend. The game played like so many games before it, but couldn't pull it off as well. I would rent this game, it is not worth owning. Keep hold of Halo 3 and wait for Recon, those have the online gaming thing down.
