2 out of 5 stars If you can't figure out camera angle, stop making games...   October 12, 2009

Oh where to begin.

First off, the good. It has a decent storyline. Not bad, not good. Decent. The end.

Now for the bad. The camera angle is frustrating. The game tries for these grandiose wide shots where your character is just a wee speck. Many times, you can't even see your character. As you fly around the same couple of levels (they repeat over and over again), if you get too close to anything, you can no longer see your character.

Also, the game doesn't have a targeting mechanic. Your moronic apprentice can be getting his bottom handed to him, but he will continue to fire lightning this way and that. The game has a targeting mechanic, but it doesn't work.

You have to play through the game once to get the decent skills (or have any skill points put into them).

This game is worth about [...]. I wouldn't (and am glad I didn't) pay more than that.

4 out of 5 stars Strong the Force is with you..   October 7, 2009

The storyline is entertaining and the powers you wield are awesome.. The only downside is the controlling aspect during the fights... Focusing to attack a single enemy may leave you attacking a rock instead..

4 out of 5 stars Fun and Enjoyable, but unfortunately lacking in replay value.   October 7, 2009

I have played the entire game through, and I have found that it to be immersing and entertaining, there is just something about using Jedi moves that really doesn't seem to get too repetitious.

Unfortunately this gives it little replay value as the plot does not vary on the second time through, so even though the difficulty is challenging on the harder settings, there isn't much of a reason to play through a second time.

For the current price it is definitely work the money, but I would not have paid $60 for it brand new.

4 out of 5 stars Just plain fun to play!   October 6, 2009
Philip Livengood (Florida)
This is the first game in quite a while that I can say I thoroughly enjoyed... it's just plain fun! Having said that, it's not a perfect title, and there are a few minor frustrations...

Cons:
1) The controls can be a little clumsy on occasion. Targeting and camera movement don't always behave like you intend. Once or twice I fell to my death because the character didn't quite move or jump like I had intended.
2) As others mentioned, the Star Destroyer battle is a little frustrating. Once you figure it out, it's not terribly difficult and has an intense, cinematic feel. But up until then it's definitely an exercise in frustration.

Pros:
1) Fun!
2) Amazing graphics
3) I REALLY enjoyed the story. Apparently there is a novel as well, and obviously the game doesn't go as deep as the book would. But, it was a very original, entertaining story that does an excellent job filling in a bit of the gap between Episode 3 and Episode 4.
4) Several difficulty settings, so no one should complain about it being to hard or easy. I played through at the normal difficulty setting, and found it to be spot on for the most part.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad, could have been better.   October 3, 2009
Merddyn (Houston, Tx United States)
I'm a big fan of star wars, but I'm not a fan of how this game translated. It's apparent that the game is an excuse to use force powers over and over and that is by far the primary purpose. Things like story, game play and overall fun take a back seat to using force powers over and over. Compared to other star wars games this is a general step in the right direction but it could have been a lot more. Die hard star wars fans will want to play it, for those that really want more of a well balanced game, you might want to wait for the $20 bin.
