GREAT MOUSE! October 3, 2009 Uplink Best gaming mouse I ever had. Enough buttons to fit my needs. Its bulky so it fits really nice in my hand. The sensitivity is really high and accurate, (I use the lowest DPI).
It worked straight out the box, just plugged it into the USB and 2 seconds later I had my Logitech MX518 working. I bought a SteelSeries QcK Mousepad with it and its so nice!
buttons and comfort September 28, 2009 Tyler C. Junk This mouse is easily the best mouse I've ever used. It fits the hand so well, you could use it for hours (which I do) and never even notice it. The button placement is also great for any game that requires the use of extra mouse buttons. another great feature is the speed changing ability in the mouse. The + and - buttons speed up and slow down the pointer speed, which can be helpful in just everyday browsing or in shooter games when you want to go from panic mode to sniper mode. All around great mouse.
Is there a better mouse? September 19, 2009 M. Gentry (Fort Worth, Texas United States) Over the years you'll probably use a box full of mice and may never even give any of them a 2nd thought. Maybe you will when one of them is just really bad but, otherwise they are what they are. The MX 518 is nothing remarkable which IMO is a good thing. I plugged it in and I don't even think about it anymore. I use it everyday for every possible task, gaming included and never have a single issue with it. Even plugged in to a KVM switch all the buttons function, and there's never a glitch.
I've used a lot of wireless mice and finally just gave up and went back to the old tried and true wired version. I don't get the big attraction to wireless mice? You have to charge them which is like adding a step so, no thanks.
By the way, normally Logitech's software is terrible, looks like some who review the MX 518 can verify that. I use Linux so... Logitech's included software goes in the trash can as soon as the package is opened. =)
Hopefully Logitech won't change the MX 518, it's perfect just how it is.
Ive owned this mouse for 7 years September 14, 2009 Philip H. Nguyen Hi,
After 5+ years, my mx 518 mouse has finally died on me. I think logitech headphones sound junky, however the quality of this mouse is so good that I will not buy any other mice other than logitech. I play many first person shooters and have played in halo tournaments and counter strike tournaments with this mouse in the past and it performs immaculately.
MX518 Always the best. September 11, 2009 Davis D (California) I had this product before then moved to a razer which that broke within a year. But this mouse is just the best, feel and comfort is perfect, great reaction times. This item is best of the best.
