Not what I thought.... March 11, 2007 A. G. James (Crown Point, Indiana USA) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
obviously this works for some kids but mine found it more confusing. It's worth a try, as this way may the the key to have your child remember their multiplication tables. All kids are different and one has to try different options to see what works for them.
Different learning style? Try this! March 8, 2007 Lost for Words (North of the 48) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I ordered this book to work with a 4th grade student who had no success in learning the times tables with rote memorization - flashcards, etc. This student is very verbal and can remember the stories and pictures - yes the stories are goofy - but he can remember them! We slowly worked on the stories, just one new one a day, and had strong success. We did change the story for the 7x7 to something easier to remember (We called it the fighting 7's - the fort is mine=49). I would suggest trying this.
Learning Multiplication February 17, 2007 R. Kellan What a great program for learning Math. I've just had it a week and he has already learned 0-5.
Easiest Way to Learn February 12, 2007 Carrie Sand (Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I taught my daughter in a number of weeks to learn her multiplication tables. We had been trying for a year to learn them before this book, but when we started reading the stories, they really captured her interest. This book made a world of difference, and I would highly recommend it.
An answer to our problems! February 9, 2007 A Rawlins (Stockton, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We have tried several different products, games, and flash cards to help my children ages 8 and 9 learn their multiplication tables. This book has been the most effective and least painful way they have learned all of them. Each of the multiplication problems has a story to go along with it. They memorize the stories, usually all funny short stories. When they struggle with a problem they just think what the story was and then they remember the answer. What a great product. Worth every penny!!
