Too Big to Fail February 14, 2010 Stephen F. Demidovich (Sunny Florida) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an excellent read and gives you an insight into our huge financial meltdown . The writer's style is excellent and his attention to detail is profound. This is a must-read book if you want to learn the gory details of this historic crisis.
Tedious February 13, 2010 Indy Ron (Carmel, IN, US) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This was the most tedious rendition of the financial crisis I have read. I kept waiting for insight as to why Lehman was so vulnerable, and why Merrill "was next" to go, and why AIG was so poorly financed. What happened to make these firms so insolvent? You'll have to look elsewhere for what happened to make these firms collapse. If you like soap operas here is more than 500 pages of "he said, she said"
Insightful and thought provoking February 12, 2010 J. S. Johnson (Sydney Australia) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a well written account of how close the world economy came to the brink of economic ruin. It causes you to reflect on leadership, governance, regulators whilst causing you to question the issues you see day to day in business. Well worth a read.
good book bad price February 11, 2010 Kenneth Shaw 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
well I was on my way to converting to ebooks only.. not going to happen.. I pay pretty much the same thing for the paperback.. Ebook was just a nice convenience. In all situations I would rather have the real book.
Too big to fail - rocks February 11, 2010 John D. Garrett (Garland TX) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was a great account of the events leading up to the greatest bailout in US history. ARS did a fantastic job of holding my attention.
