Terrific books! December 7, 2009 annabanana (Beaufort, SC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My eight year-old Grandson adores "Skippy Jon Jones" books. I recently received a long-distance phone call from him, where he was excited and almost breathless. He squealed "Grammie! This is an EMERGENCY ... there is a new Skippy Jon Jones book out, it's called "Lost in Spice" ... can you please get it for me?" Having purchased most of his other ones in the past few years ... I returned his excitement ... and quickly agreed to do so and had it shipped right to him! I love reading these wonderful books to him ... (now he can read them to me) ... but, I add a dialect when I read them to him and, he just loves that and we laugh and laugh at Skippy Jon's adventures. I highly recommend this imaginative and delightful book series.

My son and I are great fans of Skippyjon, and the latest book is a lot of fun. I you enjoyed the other books you will have fun with this one, too.

Skippyjon is a cosmic cutie! November 27, 2009 Michelle R (Minnesota) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Skippyjon's adventures are fueled by the world around him, but that doesn't mean he can't travel to Mars. Skippy, who liked all things Mexican, thinks the red planet is made of chili powder. With a little help from the spice in his mother's kitchen, and a sneeze to send him into orbit, he was soon exploring a strange new world!
The illustrations are superior. Kittens are cute enough, but a Siamese Kitten with oversized ears and covered in chili powder? There nothing cuter, I tell ya. Nearly every page is covered with fun details, like the cat-shaped piggy bank on his dresser, or that the hood of his jacket is shaped to accommodate his ears.
I also love how Skippyjon's mother always welcomes him back so lovingly from his adventures!
Note that the version I have came with a CD of the story, and that was a fun accessory.
