5 year old loves it. February 1, 2010 Kari West (Orlando FL) The camera is great, for little kids, but I wouldn't buy it for older kids because the pictures aren't very good. The camera unfortunately runs though batteries quickly too. My 5 year old really loves to take pictures with it and loves the additional features. I think it is worth the price, but I wouldnt pay more than the $40.
great camera! January 31, 2010 Jackie (Cuyahoga Falls, OH USA) This was a x-mas gift for our daughter who is 4 years old. We purchased a lithium photo battery which works great. The picture quality is good and her favorite part is to take video of herself and others and watch it over and over. She learned how to operate everything on her own with little help from us. There are some fun games and ways to decorate the pictures she takes. Overall this is a great product and I highly recommend it.
Perfect gift!!! January 31, 2010 Mikaylas Mom (Clinton Twp, MI) Bought this for my 2 1/2 year old for Christmas. She loves it!!! It is a bit much for her now, but she will grow into it. It's seems to be pretty durable and will last... Now we just got to be careful when she armed with the camera!!! LOL
Techie kids will love this camera January 30, 2010 L. Corbin (Kalamazoo, MI) I bought cameras for my grandkids this year. Grandson, age 5, got a real camera, and granddaughter age 4 got this toy. It truly is a toy; with only 2 megapixels you aren't going to get any great pictures. HOWEVER it is a GREAT toy! Grandson likes it better than his real camera. Granddaughter, not a techie, doesn't really enjoy it all that much, but does play with it.
There are lots of things that make this fun for techie kids. You can add a number of cute frames, that show up right on the LCD screen: kids can photograph 2 heads over a bride-and-groom cutout, or put a subject's face inside a shark's mouth, etc. Cute. There are some simple video games on it as well. It's easy to learn, but again, the technically-inclined child will like this better than one who's not. I learned the basic workings of the camera first, then taught grandson a little, then he just took off with it. Neither child really cares about downloading the pictures, they just look at the screen.
It WOULD be nice if there were some kind of image-stabilization, as the photos are sometimes quite blurry. I have erased about 2/3 of the photos on the card. Also, don't depend on the internal memory, it's too small. You need to buy an SD card so kids can snap away. Battery life is pretty good, but stock up on the AAs or invest in some rechargeables anyway.
I bought this camera for a good price on Amazon on Black Friday and saved it for the January birthday. LOVED the frustration-free packaging.
Great Kids Camera January 30, 2010 weber girl (Wisconsin) I got this camera for my three year old daughter for Christmas and she loves it. She takes it with her all the time and even sleeps with it. I see myself taking pictures with her camera because it is out and around. The picture quality is the best if held really still but little kids have a hard time doing this but that is okay. They will learn to do this with time and practice. She really likes the games that came with the camera once she was showed how to play them. She also likes that the camera is easy to use and hold on to. All in all this camera is very good for little kids who want to take pictures by themselves.
