 A great toy even if it has a UFO & alien January 11, 2009

This toy has many interlocking parts that allow you to take the shuttle from launch to space lab complete with robotic arm to reentry. Other less "real" configurations can also be made to continue the imaginative fun. A small UFO and little green figure allow for additional fun play whether or not you believe in UFOs or aliens. Hours of fun and thus far has withstood two kids ages 3-6 for about 3 weeks with no sign of wear and tear.

This toy is even better in person than online. It has many well-molded parts that fit together smoothly and has sophisticated detail to delight the heart of the (in this case) 4-year old recipient and his 6-yr old brother -- not to mention adults of various ages. There is a decided "wow" factor to this space toy that will spur any little boy's imagination into "infinity and beyond". The icing on the cake to his "green" grandma is the availability of "Frustration-Free Packaging" which benefits both the environment and adults' nerves on gift-giving day.

My son (just turned 6) got this for Christmas, and has been playing with it ever since. He loves to take the components apart and put them back together differently. He's been happily entertained for 3 weeks now, and there's all kinds of possibility for imaginative play. He's been exploring space, asking questions and learning. Perfect! But my favorite part was the frustration free packaging! No stupid plastic and more plastic that's hard to unpack and is a horrid wast of energy and reseources, and adds to our trash pile! Just some recyclable cardboard - 5 stars for the packaging, Amazon!

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He loves to play with this because of the multiple ways to put it together. It is durable and great for the imagination!
