A Pleased toddler & mommy January 31, 2006 Michelle E. Wimberly (Tampa, FL) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
My 3 year old loves the Art Studio. He especially loves the Free draw and the color mixing. I like the drawing lessons where it shows him how to draw a shape or figure, then allows him to trace it or try on his own. Improvements would be to add another game or more (there are two - if I remember correctly), and allow more mixing of colors. It's really a fun and entertaining product.
Thank you.

Big Christmas Letdown January 17, 2006 Indi Kaufman (Compton, Ca) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I too bought this for my child for Christmas, she also has the other v-tech unit and enjoys playing her games on it. When my husband said that he saw this art studio I thought great because she loves to draw. When we opened it on Christmas it was such a disapointment. The unit kept cutting off, you had to press really hard to get the pen moving and it was frustrating to my 4 year old so I had to take it back to the store because we thought it was something wrong with the unit, and have not been able to get another one since they have been out of stock at all the Toys r us stores I have been to. And now I see all the bad reviews for it and know why. I am glad that I am not the only parent who had a problem with this unit so now I know it was not my lack of understanding what to do. It was the unit that was all wrong While I love V-Tech and their toys this one needs a lot of work in order to keep the interest of smaller children who loves to draw and for the parents for that matter who may want to play with the children. I would just turn it off!!
Requires another $50 machine to work January 15, 2006 Molly Phipps 6 out of 33 found this review helpful
I bought this for my son for a christmas present. In case you didn't notice, nowhere on this page does it say that it requires another $50 toy in order to work. I sent it back and got no refund or help whatsoever. I do not recommend buying from this website.
Don't even get your hopes up January 14, 2006 April Carpenter (Bristol, TN United States) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this for my boys for Christmas as they have the console and the youngest was getting the pocket v-smile from Santa so this was going to be the oldest's present from Santa. Luckily I thought to try it out b4 Christmas. It didn't work and it has a really poor design. YOu cannot see your designs on the unit, only on the television screen which I felt was a bit advanced for the 3-6 age group. So I hurridly called c-tech to see if the could send me another unit. I was told I would receive info to return it in 6-10 business days and once they received the unit I would get a replacement in 6-8 weeks. I was also informed that they were having lots of problems with the unit from Amszon. Luckily they were nice enough to ship me out something else at no charge so that my son would have something for Christmas. I had bought the Leapster for my other son for his birthday and the game Mr Pencil's Learn to Draw and Write does the same thing and is sooooo much better. SO if your kids like the v-smile I would also invest in the leapster and purchase that game.
Not worth it December 30, 2005 K. Short (Maryland) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this for my kids for christmas who both love their V Smile system. I was suprised that my daughter had not played with it since Christmas day so I decided to try it out myself. I was very disappointed. I know it is only 30.00 but it hardly does anything. It asks you to draw straight lines and when I was drawing them it was telling me that I was wrong. The 2 games that are included are very plain. I would rather pay 20.00 for a vsmile game then continue using this. In my opinion the Disney Dream Sketcher is better and at least they can print out the pictures that they draw on the printer.
