Husband's Choice October 24, 2009 H. B. Orr (Scottsdale, AZ United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
My husband read this book by Glenn Beck and was so taken with it that he wanted to send it to his three children--so he purchased three copies and did so!
My Eyes are Opened! October 22, 2009 David Wilson (San Antonio, Texas) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I haven't read many books all the way through in my lifetime, but I finished this one. My eyes are WIDE open after reading this book. This book will make you mad as hell at what the Government is doing to our country. It will make you want to fight for your country to get it back where it needs to be. I feel Glenn hit the nail on the head on all issues and I learned so much. This book has helped me understand what is going on in this country and where it's heading if we don't start acting NOW. It's a must read. Thanks Glenn.
Paine must be spinning in his grave October 22, 2009 Brendan E. White (Anchorage, AK USA) 8 out of 14 found this review helpful
Beck and Paine have more than a book title in common. They are (were) both loose cannons, fortunately Payne was facing the British. Beck lacks the substance that Payne had, he simply pulls on heartstrings and sells cynicism, he is not a constructive force. Sometimes you need a few sticks of dynamite to build a dam, but Beck is more like the corrosive salts in the water that eat the dam from the inside out.
Back to the basics October 22, 2009 K. M. Jones (Illinois, USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This (our) country was founded on simple principles -ie- The Constitution. I believe the same principles will work in any era as they were based on a godly foundation and is a solid foundation from which to build. Everyone should read this book just to have a better understanding of where we are today and the direction we appear to be going.
Not Thomas Paine...Glenn Beck's Common Sense October 22, 2009 honeypie (AZ) 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
For those reading this book expecting Thomas Paine... You will be disappointed. This is 100% Glenn Beck. It is however, for fan's of Glenn's no holds barred approach to conservative politics, an entertaining book and a fast read. Just enough Glenn Beck to get your blood pressure up and motivated to tell all your liberal friends they are in fact "WRONG." Glenn's purpose is to upset you and motivate you to do something. Apathy is worthless.
Take it all in, run it through your own filter; you will still find a lot of Common Sense in this book.
