Not well written or credible November 12, 2009 J. Agnese (San Francisco, CA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
There should be some warning that this is a teenage Christian novel. I hesitate to write anything negative regarding the religious beliefs of others but in this case I was blindsided into purchasing a book that is supposedly a great emotional and spiritual adventure and really turned out to be as well written as a teenagers dairy with a simplistic story about some personal conversations with a bizarre group of persons represented as "God" and "Jesus". I was unable to suspend belief long enough to even follow along. In the thousands of books I have read in the last thirty years this is the second one I absolutely could not finish due to lack of interest. I write reviews very infrequently only in the case of very special and inspiring books and very uninteresting flops.
Riveting Story in CD format November 11, 2009 Sandra McCafferty (Harrisonburg, VA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read this book and wanted to discuss it with my husband, who does not enjoy reading. He does, however, enjoy audio books and suggested I try to find this book in audio form. He has almost finished it and agrees with me that it is extremely hard to put down. The author tackles some hard questions and answers them well, granted not always traditionally. If nothing else, this book makes one examine one's own beliefs and viewpoints. It is a great stepping-off book for group discussion on faith and values.
Have read it 3 times and love it! November 10, 2009 B. Doak 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
For some of us that do not go to church every Sunday but believe in a higher power that is greater than us, its a GREAT read. If puts the relationship between GOD and us in perspective. this is a book that I keep by my bedside and will flip through when I need some inspiration. I highly recommend it to anyone!
Wow This book is so awesome! November 10, 2009 Heather (Virginia) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
