Don't give up on this book. When I started it I thought, "Where exactly is this going?"I kept on reading and I am happy I did so. It is a wonderful book about a war that has children transported to another area in order to be safe. I had an English friend who was one of those children transported to a safe place outside of London. I wish she were here to enjoy this story.

This is one of my favorite books of all time. I wasn't sure how I would like the letter format, but I absolutely loved it. The characters were so likeable and I really enjoyed the history lesson woven into the storyline. I am recommending it all of my family and friends and I plan on reading it again and again.

I had heard a good deal of gushing from friends in regard to the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I finally got to pick it up and finished it in two nights. Lovable characters and some heart-wrenching moments! I like the way it was written through letters. The epistolary-style did not get old due to how caught up I became in the character's stories.
