5 out of 5 stars 2ND BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!   October 20, 2005

NOTHING can beat Peter and Wendy by J.M. Barrie, however this one comes pretty damn close!
I am typically uninterested in reading over-dramaticized fantasy books with dragons and witches and magic, and, god-forbid, vampires- but as I was perusing the shelves at my favorite bookstore, this one caught my eye. It didn't hurt that I was in a distinctly Halloween-ish mood that day, either. So I picked it up on a whim and read the cover information. I figured that if anything, I could just give it to a friend who likes books from that genre.
So I read Twilight, and low-and-behold, it rocked my socks off in a big way. I actually gasped and groaned and made other involuntary noises while reading it; it was just that good!
I was thoroughly surprised when I realized that this book comes from an inexpreienced author. That her first-ever published novel is THIS GOOD, makes her my new hero!

5 out of 5 stars couldn't put it down!!   October 20, 2005

Twilight was definitely the best book I've read in years. I read it all in one day. I'm a fan of Buffy too which kind of drew me towards buying this book in the first place. The dialogue and sarcasm was great. I lost myself in the humour and love story of the book. The quick paced plot keeps you at the edge of your seat and wanting to read more. I can't wait for the sequels!! Two thumbs up, great novel.

I had to laugh when I read the other reviews because I had the same reaction to this book. Last Sunday I started to read and simply could not put the book down. When I finally finished it was going on midnight and my eyes were so tired I could barely see! Needless to say I would love to see a sequel!

5 out of 5 stars i can't believe i even put it down to write this...   October 17, 2005

i'm an 8th grade english teacher. on my desk, presently, sit over a hundred tests i have to grade. i did not grade them after work, instead choosing to get up way before the crack of dawn tomorrow to do so. why did i do this, you ask? so that i could RUSH home, put a pot of sauce on the stove, and curl up to finish this book--which i bought yesterday and have stopped reading only to sleep (regretfully), work, and check my email (and write this review). i'd go on and on about how great of a book it is--how perfect the setting surrounds the action of the story, how believeable the characters are--and that says a lot considering several of the characters are imaginary creatures (or ARE they??)--but i have to get back to reading it. read this book--it doesn't matter how old you are! and besides--soon it will be in the 'bestseller' section--and you won't have to trek back into the YA section to find it.

Now people say don't judge a book by its cover...but in this case you can. The cover caught my eye, and I picked it up.It only took 2 days for me to read this book, it was wonderful.
Great details, and wonderful characters. This is a must read if you love vampires. She left it open for another book, and I will be sure to pick it up as soon as it comes out.
