Very well produced December 27, 2008 G. OConnor (Phoenix, AZ USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Purchased this DVD after seeing it recommended on the [...] website. Overall an excellent video introduction to off camera lighting using shoe mounted strobes. The video is produced by Nikon and therefore has only exclusive instructions for their equipment, but even though I am a Canon shooter I thought there was still a huge amount of the video that was relevant for me. The on-location work by Joe McNally is really what is so valuable in this video. Just watching him work and listening to his thought process was extremely informative.
Excellent Source December 27, 2008 David Allen (Walnut Creek, Ca United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was not really clear on how to use the Nikon CLS system until this DVD came out. With real world applications and hands on explanations on how to set the flash units, this has been a big help to me. I fear no longer.
Well Done Nikon! December 22, 2008 Duane Weikum (Oakland, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm only partially through this DVD and I already feel it's paid for itself. Nikon CLS is amazing, and these guys did a fine job (so far) in demonstrating the system and how to use it! Looking forward to finishing this shortly...will update this when I do.
Excellent tool for Amature photographer December 21, 2008 Javad Monzavifar (Charlotte, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a rather visual person. This DVD is an excellent tool for the Amature photographers who have worked only with Nikon products. The Nikon creative lighing systen works perfectly once you know who to set the camera and flashes up and this DVD just does this for you! I would buy this again. Defenitely woth the price!
Nice ,entertaining and the last 20 minutes sounded terrible. December 19, 2008 Mark C. (Sacramento CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This DVD was very entertaining and well made and good information. Take it with a grain of salt since Nikons main purpose was to inform you of their flashes especially the top of the line more expensive ones. Joe McNally is amazing and knows his stuff that's for sure. I am sure I will watch it again soon but the last 20 minutes of the DVD were of bad quality sound wise with the music and narration sounding warbled and distorted. It was otherwise very good and I certainly gained some insight to the world of off camera flash photography.
