This product is very helpful for me. I'm doing a newsletter for the very first time and don't really know how to do one. The templates on here and are great and easy to use. It's helping me layout my newsletter the way I want to. I'm a little electronically inept so some things are a little difficult for me to figure out. But I click here and there and find my way through to get the desired result I want.

I decided to update my ancient version of Publisher with the latest (2007) version. I use it for newsletters, and home projects. The 2007 Publisher version is easy to use, and the results are very good. I rate the software a 4 stars.
However, the packaging is a problem. The first thing I noticed was a rattle sound. Once I figured how to get the plastic box opened I discovered the plastic piece that holds the CD in place was broken. This allowed the CD to bounce around inside the case like a marble in a cup.
Next, the product code label is glued to the case. However, the label had a crease in it which obscured one of the digits, so I had to guess at it. The program installed okay, so I guessed right. Poor quality control for sure.
Based on the poor packaging, I have to give the product a 2 star rating.

Your printer will hate you. Ad agencies will not respect you. This is not a design program. I have been forced to deal with this program for years in the print and design industry. My current stance is "Publisher documents NOT ACCEPTED".
This program is fine for homemade documents for small business and personal use on your color printer. Do not try to save yourself some money and buy a headache if you are trying to do REAL page layout. Buy Adobe InDesign and learn how to use it or maybe even QuarkXpress (if it's still around).
The world needs to be freed from this monstrosity that comes bundled with other good programs like Excel and Word. When is Microsoft going to come up with a real page layout program?
