Really good for a second grader! March 26, 2007 Tricia Brownstein (California) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
My twin daughters were given this gift (math adventure ages 6-9) for x-mas when they were barely six years old. At the time, this game was WAY too advanced for them, and it actually irritated me because I had to help them out so much with it. Zip forward a few years and they are now eight years old and in the second grade. I put this game on a few days ago and was amazed at how useful it is now. It uses shapes, fractions, money, time, addition and subtraction. I strongly recommend this program, it closely matches concepts taught in the second grade and is very good practice (and a good way to get them out of your hair for a few minutes) :)
Math Adventures is Great! April 23, 2006 Monik Hoffman (Tel Aviv) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought RR Math Adventures three years ago, and my son who is now almost 8 has used it off and on ever since. When he was younger I sat with him and explained some of the easier concepts, and little by little, he has finished the disk. I'm especially impressed by his understanding of fractions - which they haven't had in school yet, and currency - since we don't even live in the U.S. and he's never even seen U.S. money. Not to mention that English is a second language for him. I think that speaks very well of the teaching methods of this program. I've also run it on Win98 and XP with no problems. We've enjoyed this disk very much.
outstanding! July 13, 2004 Carmen T. (Saskatchewan Canada) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
My oldest son was having a lot of trouble in grade two with both math and reading and I purchased this CD-rom hoping it would help him to learn by having more fun and not even realizing he was learning. I was not let down. He loves to play this game. The story line is great and very entertaining and the graphics are excellent. Overall I highly recommend this game to help any child to master early grade math skills. Well woth the money.

My sons will be in 2nd and 3rd grade in the fall. They just love this game and would rather play it than any of their other games. I hope to find a sequel for they will be done with this game before long.
we love it March 17, 2004 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
We got this software for our five year old daughter and she loves it. At first she needed some parents' help. But soon she likes to play by herself, occasionally asks some questions. She got it a few weeks ago and has already learned so much from it. Her favorite parts are actually pretty challenging for a five year old -- fraction, money and time. She will need to learn some more from school to play the difficult part of this game, but she can already "play" most of it. she enjoys play and learn at the same time. we are very happy about this game. Our daughter is a very advanced five year old who joins 2nd grade reading group in her school everyday. This software helps her catch up with the math part and really enjoy it.
