Another Dangerous Right Wing Idealogue with No Common Sense March 24, 2009 Thomas W (USA) 33 out of 636 found this review helpful
Mr. Levin's long-winded diatribe is just another shrill manifesto written by a garden-variety, far-right-wing idealogue. His laughably and factually incorrect interpretation of American history, with all the requisite reaching for the "founding fathers" and "original intent," is just another hackneyed presentation of far right historical revisionism. Types like Mr. Levin with their now roundly discredited and worn out extremist philosophies, consistently and conveniently ignore the real basis of our democracy: that our Founding Fathers crafted an organic constitution that has been capable of changing with the times while preserving liberty. This characteristic of our constitution originates in the English common law from which it was derived, which itself is rooted in notions of COMMON SENSE and FAIRNESS. These two important elements are missing from the thoughts and ideas of people like Levin and Limbaugh, for whom ideology is everything, and from whom common sense fled long, long ago.
According to Levin 2001-2009 was liberty March 24, 2009 Wayne B. Bergeron (Los Angeles, CA) 37 out of 663 found this review helpful
This book is simply more of his warped logic on his definition of what Americans should be. Anything that deviates his definition is considered leftist, communist, or anti-American. We just got through eight years of this type of abuse with the Bush/Cheney administration. I do not see why we need to continue with this hateful and devisive way of thinking. Like the great writer Sinclair Lewis wrote, "When facism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross" (or a Star of David in Levin's case).
We just had what Mr. Levin spoke of from 2001-2009 and it sure did not look like liberty to me. To all those hate on my review, let me say this "Remove the beam from thine eye before you attempt to remove the splinter from mine."
What is a conservative? March 24, 2009 Deckard (Bryan, Tx United States) 25 out of 409 found this review helpful
We continue to allow shysters like Levin to destroy this country by allowing them to get by calling themselves conservatives. He is a neocon. Look up the origin of the word. It was created by Zionists who wanted to "con" the conservatives. It was popular to call oneself a conservative - so they started doing so. Sort of like how McCain calls himself a Republican. How many of you "real" Republicans wished he had been kicked out of the party long ago? Instead he was left alone and allowed to cause irreparable harm to the country - just by being allowed to be considered something he clearly was NOT. Little things mean a lot and Amnesty would not have gotten the head of steam it did if he had been properly ousted from the party. And he wouldn't have been around to throw the election to Obama. Now they are getting ready to pass mandatory community service, more gun laws, more expansion of government, etc..... Such are the consequences when you don't keep your house straight. Similar dangers are posed by nearly irrelevant blow-hards like Levin being able to call himself a "conservative." Call up his show some time. Ask him if his loyalty is with the US or Israel. You won't get a straight answer. How conservative is that?
The book is nothing but rewarmed rhetoric from his show - his attempt to "cash in." I can see he and his family are feverishly posting 5 star ratings to prop it up here. LOL!

Mr. Levin has painted a big target on his back with this book. Soon, the White House will be trying to marginalize him like they tried to with Limbaugh, and again they will only drive up his sales numbers. Why? Because he is right, and they know it. Power to the people, dissent is patriotic!

If you believe that the country is going down the tubes (even though the stock market may be up, it doesn't mean the world is going to be okay), then this book is for you.
The liberals will come and bash this book because it doesn't fit their ideal utopian socialist world; pay no heed to their 1 star reviews. I read this book and it was on par with alot of the other popular conservative author pieces out there now, if not better.
Do not let what made America the great place it was slip through your finger tips because of the uninformed and academically-brainwashed youth being the squeakier wheels just to get the grease (and I'm a college student, so I KNOW!). This book and what it contains benefits EVERYONE, young old black white spanish rich poor, everyone. EVERYONE!
Get this book and see where it takes you.
