hard to read March 25, 2009 John W. Baker III (north carolina) 11 out of 34 found this review helpful
Great book, but hard to read! I needed a dictionary every 10 minutes. Guess I needed the Ivy league education after all.
Levin Promotes More Rush Limbaugh Cracker Conservatism March 25, 2009 mp3support@wi.rr.com (WI, United States) 25 out of 393 found this review helpful
The book "A Conservative Manifesto" is typical angry conservative diatribe in a similar political hardcore vein as the Lenin/Marx Communist Manifesto. The main difference is that Levin uses religious dogma to substantiate his premises. You can just picture Rush pounding the table as he quotes Levin's book over Rush Limbaugh Cracker Radio. Any sort of political/economic doctrine that has such rigid hardcore agenda as this is suspect. We live in the 21st Century. Levin is promoting old shop worn ideas that no longer work. Let's move toward a better future instead of moving back into the dark ages.
They says he is Dangerous, So I bought 3! March 25, 2009 ROUGHING IT! (Montana) 24 out of 32 found this review helpful
The left wing need for a chicken in every pot and a house for everyone, paid for by others (Tax Payers) got us in to this mess! America gives you the field, you must work in it to grow your future! The fact that ignorant college students and other people WHO HAVE NEVER PAID TAXES hate this book made me by three! IF YOU DONT MAKE MORE THAN $31,000 as a single or 63,000 married, you effectively dont pay taxes SO SHUT UP!
Levin is brilliant March 25, 2009 A. Wilhoit (South Florida) 37 out of 44 found this review helpful
Levin's research into the Constitution is invaluable, especially for those who have been fed a steady diet of liberalism via the mainstream mdeia of the last many years. Levin's presentation of issues is akin to classroom study, and concise enough to get the point across quickly (i.e., 200 pages of text and almost 40 pages of footnotes on the sources). Levin documents the erosion of self-governance over the last several years and the principles we need to demand in order to regain our freedoms that are being consumed by the federal government with each passing day. A must read for anyone who wishes to truly understand conservatism whether they support that philosophy or not.
The real Conservative's Manifesto March 25, 2009 Aldridk Gessa (NJ, United States) 38 out of 46 found this review helpful
I actually got this book autographed by Mr. Levin during his book signing in NY.
I read half of it while waiting in line and due to my work and class work, I'm reading the rest of it little by little. So far, I'm completely blown back by Levin's book. This book not only serves to reassure how you already feel, but it is extremely well thought out and written. No crazy words or hard to follow topics. I admire Mr. Levin for putting so much hard work into providing us with this masterpiece.
