Enjoyable, but you have to like math... March 2, 2009 Patrick G. Andre (Bothell, WA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great book if you have not found ways to perform calculations in your head. These tricks and techniques will give you the tools you will need, but it requires practice (read: homework) to make them stick, and to make them easier.
However, if you ever find yourself without a calculator, or if you want to race someone on theirs, this will help you figure out these problems. I have started doing most multiplication problems in my head instead of on a calculator.
excellent... I never learned these things, and I wish I would have... January 7, 2009 Jacqueline B. Jones 1 out of 3 found this review helpful

Should be used in schools January 4, 2009 Nicolas A Hertl (Seattle) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After reading the first couple chapters of this book I couldn't help but wonder why nobody had ever taught me this stuff in school. The author does a wonderful job of helping you to enjoy mental math and making it easier all at the same time.
Great book for learning mental math tricks December 12, 2008 T. Trentman 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book provides easy to understand strategies for dramatically improving the speed of mental calculation. It is easy to read, and the strategies are effective. I also bought "How to calculate quickly" and "Short-Cut math" and this was clearly the best of the lot.
