I hate happy fairy tale endings but that didn't stop me from seeing this movie twice then buying the dvd. Must have for all Sex and the City fans. Its the tv show to the third power
HBO has done it again. December 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was prepared to give this four stars until I found out about Sex and the City: The Movie (The Wedding Collection Ultimate Collectors Edition) being released next week. Now I understand why the disc I shelled out better than $20 for is so light on extras. I was a fool not to realize that, as ever, HBO had something even bigger in the goodie bag that they were saving for later.
So what do you get with this 2-disc "special" edition? Well there's nothing "special" about it, unless you use the word as euphemism for that oh-so-unpolitically correct word "retarded." The extra features could have easily fit onto one disc, because there are only four of them: deleted scenes, a feature on the fashion, a boring conversation with Michael Patrick King and Sarah Jessica Parker that goes in circles and a four minute "studio session" with singer Fergie, who did the main title song. The only interesting thing about that dull feature is when Fergie says she "grew up" watching the show. Considering she was 23 when the show started, that makes her either an idiot or a liar. There is a feature commentary by Michael Patrick King that's worth listening to, but it's maddening that he never talks about what happened to Stanford Blatch's boyfriend, Marcus. In Season 5 of the series, Stanford wound up with the happily ever after that all the girls were searching for, and fans of the show were elated for him. But Marcus is inexplicably nowhere to be found in the movie, and from the way MPK and Co. carry on, it's as if he never existed. Perhaps that mystery will be solved for the price of $50 if you buy the deluxe edition.
I liked the movie a lot, which is why I avoided giving the disc a single star. What I don't like is the fact that I once again feel as if HBO has given me the short end of the stick. I had no idea that an ACTUAL "special" edition was coming out next week, or I wouldn't have bought this slap-dash edition last week. At this point, the fact that this 2-disc extended edition comes with a digital copy that is the original theatrical version, so that you get both versions of the movie essentially for the price of one, is the only thing positive I can say about the DVD.
Loved the Series, Loved the Movie November 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved the series and I have all of them on DVD and still watch them quite often, so I was very excited when I saw the movie was coming out. I rushed to get the DVD and I will watch it when I want to have a day of watching Sex and the City, the series and the movie. I hope they make another movie to follow this one.
Excellent seller! November 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful

A fun movie for the mature audience. November 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sex and the City - The Movie (Widescreen Edition) I didn't expect to like this movie and was pleasantly surprised. It had all the same emotion and fun of the TV series. The stars remained true to the characters they had created for television and we watched them grow into their new lives and still remaining best friends. The men in their lives understood this sisterhood and embrassed it, therefore becoming integral to these women. All said I have watched this movie three or four times so far and all of my girl friends have equally enjoyed it. Give it a 4 star, hands down.
