Helpful but boring. July 29, 2007 This DVD is not very good quality because so much is crammed onto such little space but it works well enough, I suppose. The recording is a close up of a dry-erase board upon which a man writes examples and equations while explaining them. It's much like a boring classroom lecture... but the benefit of the DVD is obviously that you can review it as often as needed. I can only stand to watch about a half and hour or so at a time as it's rather dry... but I have learned from it.
Very Satisfied July 16, 2007 I'm returning to college to acquire my BA in Bus. Accounting as a result, one of the courses required is Algebra. I haven't had a math class in many years and now everything is done with accounting applications, so I had forgotten about Algebra and the other more complicated math equations. I was struggling in the class until a friend introduced me to CD's by Jason Gibson, what a life saver! After watching Jason explain math/algebra, I understood more than I did when I was in school. Jason explanations are so simple to understand. I wish that I'd had him as teacher in my early years so that I wouldn't have had such a fear of doing math. As a matter of fact, I'm going to purchase his CD's for my nine (9) year old nephew. Great job Jason!!

Excellent for review and for self-learners. May 19, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This DVD set is just great for someone who has been away from algebra for a while and would like a quick review. For kids just learning algebra I think the set will almost guarantee a "A" provided one does the work.
The instructor is excellent and goes through the stuff step by step. I also like the fact that this set does not have any patronizing gimmicks but is a straight forward presentation with example after example.
I wish my teacher, back in 1958, had this instructor's teaching style when I was first introduced to algebra in Seventh Standard (British system). Excellent product.

My daughter was having difficulty understanding her High School Alegbra II lessons. I purchased this DVD after reading reviews on Amazon. She seemed to have understood this teacher. I only wished that we found it sooner. This is what she wrote. "I liked how the teacher explained things and made it easier to learn. My only complaint is that it didn't have enough algebra lessons in it."
VERY WELL TAUGHT DVD SET March 13, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have to agree with the majority on this DVD set. Far better than the first Algebra Math Tutor DVD (10 hours of material on a single DVD didn't cut it for me). The audio/video isn't perfect, but it really gets the job done. Trust me, I'm in the Navy, stationed overseas, work full days and some weekends, have a family and a life outside the office and at my age of 33, it has been years since I've been to high school and I stunk at Math (particularly Algebra). Now I'm relying on distance education to earn a college diploma and its been really hard to grasp college-level Algebra. This DVD has taught me a lot about Algebra that I otherwise would have paid a small fortune to a private tutor so I can learn and earn 3 semester hours. Well worth the money and it doesn't have all that colorful, yet distracting fluff that the Standard Devieants have on their videos.
