TERRIFIC! September 17, 2009 S. Nall (Pensacola, Florida United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We are true Stargate fans. We have all the DVDs for SG-1 and Atlantis. The DVDs have such great clarity and color - we enjoy them over and over. The shows should never have been cancelled. They are fun, interesting, funny, and many episodes are thought-provoking in that they make us ponder events and issues here in our real lives. We love the series and miss it very much.
hurrah for the last season September 16, 2009 Mary Oh 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Why you'd want to own this even though you saw the season on TV: it has not only the standard features common to all the SGA seasons (lots of commentaries with the producers and directors, Mission Directive featurettes, deleted scenes, photo galleries, and so on) BUT ALSO expanded versions of the last two episodes Vegas and Enemy at the Gate -- the eps are longer with the additional footage, and are edited better than the TV-aired ones. I watch for the characters, and enjoyed the new footage with new dialogue for Vegas.
After long reviewing... September 15, 2009 C. E. Grier (Colorado) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Oh, I was so disappointed that this series was terminated just when it was really taking off, and had several jumping-off points that could have been explored! Frustration! Glad to hear that there will be a movie. Having the entire series really helped me to follow the plot lines better, and had my annoyance confirmed at how crappy Todd, a noble beast so to speak, was treated. He could have dumped on Atlantis and its personnel many times over. Looking forward to the movie indeed!
More on a reviewing-type note, this season is a must-have to set up a movie, and complete a truncated set of stories.
Great Entertainment September 14, 2009 Egalitarian (California, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Once again the writers and actors for this series have created marvelous entertainment, plots, and visual pleasure. This has to be one of the best choreographed science fiction series on the viewing market. It seems that the ingenious writers never run out of ideas that entertain. The respective actors have also grown into their roles wherein their interaction is second nature. The new additons to the character base are also interesting; such as the former character from Star Trek Voyager, the intrepid Hologram Doctor, and the former character from Firefly, the female Mechanic the ship Serenity, and others as well. They seem to have incorporated some of the most illustrious characters from all sorts of Science Fiction series. This is well worth while viewing.
