A Man on a mission October 18, 2009 Hellboy Hero (Massachusetts) So I didn't check this one out in theaters, but heard some cool positive reviews from people. This is a darn good action thriller, ok so plot of formulaic, simple, nothing new in this sort of genre. What is the main focal point is Liam Neeson's performance, he is a man hell bent to get his daughter back, hell, if this movie was made 10 --- 15 years ago guess who be in Neeson's role, I bet Harrison Ford, come on when watching this movie all I kept thinking was Harrison Ford could be interchangeable with Liam. But no Liam brought a nice presence to what could of been another bland revenge thriller, this might not be quite on par with Man on Fire, but it's pretty close, violence toned down for PG13, but still effective, you root when a baddie get's the s@#$ beat out of him by Liam, you're rooting for Liam, again what drives this movie is the performance of the Lead Actor. Over all a very good movie, briskly paced, nice score, action sequences very cool. Worth checking out.
Great movie! October 16, 2009 Elizabeth A. Carpenter (Seattle, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I rented this movie first, then bought it right away. I love watching the good guy kick butt on the bad guys! Liam Neeson was great in this movie. Good action, as well.
B-Movie At The Very Best! October 14, 2009 Facalbi (Killingworth, CT) 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Action packed, but absolutely illogical and unrealistic. It astonishes me that Liam Neeson would act in such an improbable unsophisticated movie. If you like only action, it's your movie. If you want the sequence of the movie to make even the tiniest bit of sense, it's worse than disillusionment.
Neeson and action are good; rest is average October 6, 2009 D. Burns (Los Gatos, CA United States) The good:
Liam Neeson; excellent action scenes. Great payback.
The bad: The acting by the rest of the cast, especially the daughter and wife. The script is pretty average. And you have to suspend disbelief: 1) No one can kill 30 people; 2)Neeson pretends to be a french policeman in Paris and he speaks english with no accent; what's wrong with that?
Overall, it's worth watching. Neeson is top notch.
You'll like this is you like Jason Bourne movies October 5, 2009 John M. Cinalli (NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I saw this movie in the theater and absolutely enjoyed it. It had me on the edge of the seat for more than half the movie. Some parts of this movie is somewhat unbelieveable - but hey, that's what entertainment is all about. Lots of action, fast-paced, and if you liked the last three Jason Bourne movies (Borne Identity, Ultimatum, Supremacy), then your bound to like this. It was good enough to make me spring for the blu-ray to recreate that theater experience once again.
