Like having a genius come home to teach your kids. January 9, 2007 Desh (NJ) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The title of this review says it all. I have all the videos from this tutor. And I'll buy every educational video he makes.
Math Video Tutor January 4, 2007 Mr. T. Moore 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The best helper I had for getting through a tough course. It allowed me to take my time and work alone at home to pick up the skills needed. Without this Math Video Tutor I do not believe I would have passed Algebra A. Highly recommend it!
Great for Homeschooling! January 2, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I'm 12, and I'm homeschooled. My dad got this for me to watch... while he sits next to me ready to explain some of the things I'm confused about. There are some mistakes, but you would be sitting next to your kid while he/she watches it to correct the few mistakes, right?
There are people saying about this product on this website is "boring setting" and "bad video quility". ITS A ERASABLE BOARD WITH A GUY'S HAND DRAWING OUT THE QUESTIONS, PEOPLE!!!!!!! I'm actually glad it isn't something spectacular to remind me of TV. I have ADHD and I get distracted easily, though NOTHING in this video distracts me, nor would anything in this video distract the average kid. It gets down to the point, and nothing more... because this video is about using your head and learning, not about being Wowed by the Video Quality and the great colors.
Ok, basiclly, A Teacher draws and explains the problems on a white, erasable board.
Overall, Great Product!
Highly recommended! December 7, 2006 L. Miera 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I hadn't had math since I graduated from highschool more than 20 years ago, and I was probably the worst math student in my entire school. My horrible experience with math was the main reason why I never attended college. Well, now I'm on my way to become a nurse and the pre-reqs include a LOT of math. Before I took the math placement test to get into college, I ordered this DVD and the Algebra 2 DVD by the same author. For the first time in my life, I actually GOT IT! These DVD totally erased my decades-long fear of math and I actually had FUN solving the problems. But the big test came when I took the placement test. I scored high enough to get into the class I needed, and I am an A student while a lot of my class mates struggle. Remember, I hadn't had math in over 20 years and SUCKED at it back then. I keep on raving about these DVDs and I hope whoever struggles with math like I did will give these a try.
Thanks a million Jason for these great DVDs. I just ordered the Trig DVD set for my next math class.
10 Hours of math on a single 4.7G DVD! Hello!!! December 7, 2006 S. A. Hill (Perth, Western Australia) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I previously purchased another DVD in this series and was impressed, so I decided to purchase this one. I was a bit apprehensive because it stated it was 10 hours of math on a single 4.7G DVD and that just didn't make sense.
I found out I was right to be suspicious, the picture quality is simply awful. This should have been recorded on three DVD's to bring the picture quality up to an acceptable level.
The tutorial is very good, Gibson explains things plainly and clearly, even to the point of stating where mathematics uses "silly" terms and "names" that often makes algebra confusing for some. This DVD is of great help for people requiring algebra assistance, but be warned, the picture quality is NOT very good.
