Love this course! May 14, 2008 Math Tutor[dot]com is awesome. Growing up I had always struggled with math. It remained a stumbling block for years. But I recently started college, and math is now a big part of my life. Without Mr Gibson's DVD, I would not be faring very well. What I really like about this series is how it's bundled into bite sized bits. It makes digesting much easier. No drudgery here! Not only is my math improving, I'm actually having fun while learning. I would recommend this course to anyone. Thanks a lot, Mr Gibson!
It's not hard if you know how to do it....... December 4, 2007 The worst thing a teacher can do is complicate the subject they are teaching. The best thing a teacher can do is to make the subject they are teaching as simple and as easy to understand as possible. I'm going back to college after years of not wanting to because of the bad experiences I've had with unqualified teachers. Most teachers I've had were more interested in showing the class how smart they must be in order to teach their class, which requires them to complicate the very things being taught. This is exactly why I've rebelled against going back to school in the first place. Luckily there are teachers like Jason Gibson, who want you to actually learn what they are teaching. I'm 28 years old, with the education similar to a freshman in high school, but with the help of Gibson, and learning not to be affected by lame self absorbed college teachers, I'll fulfill my dream of becoming a mechanical engineer. Hey, it's better late than never. Don't be a fool, go back to school!
Math Video Tutor--Fractions Thru Algebra! November 30, 2007 Excellant! I have not been in school in over twenty years and found the review easy and comprehensive. The instructor is thorough and easy to understand.
Jason Gibson Rocks! November 29, 2007 I always hated math. I moved a lot as a child and because of this I had gaps in my math education that made it nearly impossible for me to grasp. I always felt stupid and would often do poorly on placement tests and would be put into a math lab where I received little help and would fall even further behind. This gave me a major complex and I eventually just figured math wasn't my strong suit.
I recently went back to college at age 29 and had to again take placement tests. I didn't do well. Then I came across these DVD's on amazon and thought I'd try them out. I watched and things FINALLY started to make sense. I took my tests again and did MUCH better then before. It was a huge boost to my confidence. I realized that it wasn't that I'm "stupid" it was just that I had never been shown in simple, clear steps building upon one another.
I am so grateful for these DVD's. They have truly helped me. I have an A in college elementary algebra and will be advancing to Intermediate Algebra next semester.
Very Helpful. I wish I had these in Junior High and High School!!
The Math Video Tutor September 13, 2007 The video is good each topic is explained clearly and precisely. I like the fact that each section is individualized. The subject matter flows well into the next topic. The layout allows the student to select and work according to her needs.
In the first lesson, the word "natural" is misspelled.
