Fantastic! November 30, 2007 Sound Doctrine (Seattle, WA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I waited a year for this DVD to be released. This movie exceded my expectations and is a WONDERFUL tool in introducing third (and fourth +) dimensions or just to watch. I purchased this for myself and I am recommending it to friends (two have already ordered it)
Special effects and acting is great. I cannot recommend this movie highly enough. Even though it is only 35 minutes long, it introduces what could be a difficult concept so plainly and with entertainment that kids will love it (as well as grown up kids like me!) and it gets kids to think outside the box - something that is lacking in most children today.
Flatland the Movie November 5, 2007 Nicholas Hand (Baltimore) 7 out of 17 found this review helpful
I saw some of Flatland the Film on YouTube I then ordered Flatland the Movie by mistake. The movie I think is intended for a much younger audience. Hex the main character has a slightly annoying childishness about her voice, which doesn't tally with the maturity and imaginativeness of her thinking.
A very nice short movie for the under 12s.
really good October 28, 2007 Angela M. Smith (Hillborough, NJ) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Flatland: The Movie is a great film for kids taking math. The story is a classic and speaks of more than just math. It's a fun and visually exciting way to learn about some important concepts in geometry.
Stellar animation and cast October 27, 2007 Gina Polly (Austin, TX) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
As an elementary teacher, I was impressed at how the filmmakers tell this story in a way that it is visually appealing and engaging for children, while at the same time thought provoking for adults.
Great educational and entertaining film! October 17, 2007 Math Lover (Boston, MA) 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
The original book has always been one of my favorites. I've taught it in my geometry classes every year. It was great to be able to incorporate this film into it to entertain the kids but also teach them. I know my students loved it! This version is so much more accessible to kids today compared to the tough language of the book. I recommend it to all math teachers, thank you for making it!
