5 out of 5 stars big improvement   November 16, 2009

I had been running windows vista, which had started to develop new incompatibilities and annoying pop-ups. Windows 7 home premium eliminates almost all of these and is much faster; well worth the upgrade if you are going to keep your computer for a while.

4 out of 5 stars No regrets with upgrade   November 15, 2009

I got the upgrade free as part of promotion with new laptop which ran Vista.

The upgrade itself was pretty painless. No serious driver issues like I experienced with previous windows upgrades. The only minor driver issues that came up were resolved by the software without my personally having to hunt down the most current version of drivers.

The interface is slick. Looks much like Vista, but easier to use and more stable.

Not sure I would pay $100, but considering the upgrade was free, it has been a welcome upgrade considering the issues with Vista.

1 out of 5 stars NICE BUT CRAP   November 15, 2009

THE OPERATING SYSTEM ITSELF IS GREAT, BOUT A MILLION TIMES BETTER THEN VISTA. THE DRAW BACK WHICH I THINK IS PURE GARBAGE IS THAT FOR THE PRICE YOU CAN ONLY UPGRADE 1, YES 1 COMPUTER. SO IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE SYSTEMS THIS ISN'T FOR YOU. I GAVE IT ONE STAR CAUSE OF THIS DRAWBACK, 100+ DOLLARS FOR JUST A ONE TIME USE!

5 out of 5 stars Best Windows OS to date   November 15, 2009

Upgraded Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate on Dell XPS 410. Installation was a breeze, OS is rock solid, all software installed without a problem. Interface is nice and simple. This is what Vista should have been.
