As soon as I paid for it got the code, entered it in on xbox.com and it accepted it just fine.
Whatever problem Amazon/Microsoft had before with this has been solved it seems.

My live expired today without any warning and going without live for a week while amazon ships a card would be pretty boring considering I have the week off. I ordered this and within about 1 minute I got my code, entered it on xbox.com and it worked perfect. I could have just gotten this from xbox.com but Amazon has the bonus month for the same price which makes it a better deal.

I just purchased this item and I must say I was quite worried. Kind of seemed that many people are having problems getting the code. Fortunately for me, I got mine rather quickly. Perhaps the people with problems can elaborate on how their purchasing process was like.
Mine went as follows:
Click buying button
Select payment option
Select billing address
Review final order
Then click 'Place Order' button and wait
(A few minutes later)
Successful transaction page (don't remember what it exactly said on it)
Click to see code
And that's about it. I entered it onto my Xbox and got my Gold membership.
This code is only for United States addresses so perhaps that's the problem? Just input a US billing address. It could also be a computer problem also. Internet too slow? Or viruses on the computer? Or perhaps impatience? You do have to wait a bit while it is being processed. Do not surf away from that processing screen.
Hope it works out for all those who had problems.

I bought the code and got it instantly so i dont feel there is an issue with Amazon i never had problems with them, But the code has not worked yet and its been over 24 hours now. I think there is an issue with Xbox for sure but good luck getting them to tell you whats REALLY wrong.

Bought one of these today but can't redeem due to error 8016138d which means the card is not activated. Contacted Microsoft and they told me to contact Amazon. Contacted Amazon and they said the cards come directly from Microsoft so they can't help. I am now back on the phone with Microsoft's terrible customer support.
