Stunningly bad interface September 30, 2009 Nom de Plume I'm a professional user experience and interface consultant, and I've just tried using Quickbooks Pro for the first time. I'm a long time Quicken user and figured that QuickBooks would be the best way to organize my small business finances.
Boy was I wrong.
QuickBooks has a stunningly bad user interface. Honestly it's one of the most convoluted and confusing pieces of software I've ever seen, and I've come across some pretty bad stuff in my consulting work.
Does Intuit really expect users to download days, weeks, or months of bank transactions then fuss with each transaction one by one to get them into the QuickBooks register? Crazy. The main user interface is a flow chart? Ridiculous.
This is to say nothing of the fact that each task and process seems to have its own pop-up window, none of which match each other in terms of layout or flow. Confusing to say the least. I could go on and on but I won't bother. Suffice to say this product has the worst executed interface I've seen in a long time, and I do this for a living. For me QB Pro is entirely unusable.
Out Of USA Support September 29, 2009 M A D (Gotham) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Everytime I've had to call for support I get connected to Countries that speak broken english. The Philippines and India are the counties that handle the support. What's wrong with keeping support in the USA for those using the product in the USA.

QuickBooks is the best!!! September 22, 2009 Iman A. Darwiche (Cincinnati, OH United States) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Quickbooks is my favorite software for Small Business accounting. Simple and doesn't need a deep knowledge in accounting to be able to use it. I recommend it to small business owners.
Serious Problem - Can't Open Company File September 18, 2009 chef woodsman (West Chester, OH USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are running a version older than 2009, then stay put. I upgraded from 2007 to 2009 and regret it. 2009 has a nagging problem; THE COMPANY FILE WILL NOT OPEN. When this happens you call support and they roll the dice to come up with a fix. I've logged this case 4 times in 7 days. Each time, the fix was different. I told them there is a problem that needs to be addressed with their product planners/developers, whoever. I was told to wait for QB 2010. What? When it comes to QB 2009, let it go. Its no good when you can't get to your company file.
