Wiiiii!!!!!!! Itsa Maaario Kart! November 2, 2009 Jordan Nutt (Athens, GA) Fun game, takes a few levels from Mario Karts throughout the ages. Aiming is a little more chaotic than the classics, and battle mode is only available in team mode with AI sims, which takes away from the classic fun, but it's still good fun to play. The Wii wheel that comes with it is better than the generic I have, as this one has an integrated button making it easier to use the "B" button on the bottom of the Wii remote.
Mario Wii! November 2, 2009 Doug Plays like the arcade version, except you sit in your own chair or couch. Since the wheel is wireless you can move a little more than a fixed arcade game would allow. That makes it a little more comfortable.
Great family fun November 1, 2009 Michael P. Polk Great game for all to play. We had racers from 60 years old to 5 years old playing at one time.
Mario Kart October 28, 2009 Matthew 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of those games that you tend to love and be frustrated with at the same time. I have been playing it since it came out almost two years ago and still can't get to level 9999 playing online. When you are racing, your character is given access to several different items to combat foes, like the blue, red, and green turtle shells, bananas, bullet bills, stars, mushrooms, etc. Though, in this game the computer tends to gives you them more often, which can become frustrating when you are hit by the blue shell two, three, or four times in a single race! I don't know how many times someone has knocked me out of a leading position at the very end of a race, only to end up around last place, losing many points in the process. This can be very frustrating for more advanced players who want to get ahead in points, but can't because of the considerable luck factor when it comes to winning, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. With the other Mario Karts you needed far more skill than luck, but in this one it can be almost equal. I don't mean to bash it. It is still a lot of fun, but you must be ready for periods of "anger" when you play the online prix modes.
The Wii Wheel takes some adjustment October 28, 2009 D. J. Nardi (Washington, DC) I haven't been crazy about the Wii Wheel so far. My friends and I played Mario Kart on the other systems incessantly, but we just can't seem to get hooked on this game with the Wii wheel. The turning is very often wide. I wouldn't say it's difficult to control, but it isn't easy. Of course, you can use the control pad as well. Unless you're a real racing fan, you should probably rent this first and see how you like it.
