5 out of 5 stars Awesome   September 22, 2009

I think this is a great game. I have played quite a few simulators and I do have a pretty high expectation for most air combat games, but I knew this was a video game. The play, however, far exceeded what I expected.

My son, who is six, just watches me get through the levels so that I can unlock planes for him. I usually fly the configuration with the nunchuck and the wii controller. I works the best for me. I go back and forth between simulator and arcade style.

The levels are fun and intense. I am a big WWII history buff so I enjoy the intro movies and the different planes. I would recommend this game to anyone for hours of fun.

4 out of 5 stars A few annoying features   September 13, 2009

I enjoy this game, but one feature in arcade mode bugs the daylights out of me. You can be chasing a Nazi plane and have it in your sights when suddenly the game takes over your controls and says "returning you to the battlefield." You then have to wait several seconds, all while the game clock is still ticking, until you can control your plane again.

In other words, the Nazis can fly off the battlefield, but you can't pursue, even if they're in your sights. More annoying, you get no kind of indication that you're about to leave the battlefield; you'd think having an enemy plane in your sights would be a good indication that you're still ON the battlefield.

4 out of 5 stars Blazing Angels Wii game   September 5, 2009
J. Karen Brian (Nebraska, USA)
The game is fun for those who like flight simulation games. It takes a little getting use to in manuvering the planes, especially for take off and landings, but is fun. I still have trouble not getting shot down, but my husband and grandsons really seem to like it and have a good time together. Great fun for spending time with today's savy computer/gaming children.

4 out of 5 stars Good fun, but takes some practice.   August 20, 2009

Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty enjoyable. I'm still having a tough time trying to steer my plane, but I'm having fun doing it, so that's what counts. And shooting down Nazis suuuuure is gratifying!

2 out of 5 stars terrible   August 16, 2009

I've been playing flight simulators/dogfighting games for over 10 years. I can honestly say this is the most frustrating I've ever played. The controls are like lead and the missions become difficult right off the bat. Poor instructions and objective add to the frustration, as you will spend a great deal of time just figuring out WTF you are supposed to do. I had to resort to walkthroughs just to survive the training mission. The game is also buggy and froze on me more than once in the brief 2 weeks I wasted my time on it. Save your money and check out the Ace Combat series instead.
