Excellent with exception October 26, 2009 Rose M. Trahan The size and picture quality isn't the best - the monitor screen reflects in specs you are wearing - but guess that cannot be helped. Get non-reflective eyewear only solution.
Microsoft will drop their support for hardware when ever they want. October 24, 2009 Matt Arrington (Long Beach,CA) 0 out of 8 found this review helpful
Just a heads up to anyone considering buying some hardware with the Microsoft brand name. I bought a Microsoft MN-710 wireless router and network adapter a couple years back. You'd expect it to have drivers automatically install for Vista or Windows 7, right? No! There aren't any, not even for download. It's worthless and I have to replace it now and it makes me angry. I have older hardware that the companies updated their drivers, and work with Vista and Windows 7.
Buy your hardware from a hardware vendor not a software vendor. Microsoft will not care about you or your silly web cam 2-3 years from now, when you are looking for a new driver.
Functions just as expected October 21, 2009 J. Jensen 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I work for an Aviation business and we bought three of these to stay in contact with our other locations. They were a breeze to install on XP and on Vista and we love them. We use these with Skype so the quick Windows Messenger button is useless, but that's what I get for buying Microsoft. Over all I'm very satisfied with this product and I'm thinking about buying one for my home.
REMEMBER Microsoft bribes people to write good reviews about there products. Worthless time consuming piece of junk October 19, 2009 T. bailey 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is not "plug and play". Like ipods, zunes, and other microsoft hardware, a user has to install several software programs to get this worthless cam to work.
This required software includes:
* Windows Live Messenger. An annoying program which is a constant icon on your taskbar, and opens up whenever you start windows, and is almost impossible to uninstall.
and two other programs... it took me two hours to install all the worthless programs I dont want.
In addition, the cam base is terrible, and doesn't stand up well alone. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get the cam to hook to your modem screen.
Remember, Microsoft bribes bloggers to say good things about its company.

They were trying to control the conversation by seeding their version of the story with powerful voices online. It didn't work. Instead, it provoked a firestorm, with some claiming that Microsoft was trying to bribe bloggers."

Based on its terrible track record, and how terrible this cam is, I would not be surprised at the least bit if many of the positive reviews are by Microsoft employees and PR companies.
Webcam October 16, 2009 P. Johnson (Camarillo, CA USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Basic Webcam. Installed well and works fine. It is no Technacolor wiz bang gizmo. This baby is basic and that is about it. The sound is good though. Price point is good, so overall, a good product!
