Glad I purchased this February 27, 2010 Curtis B. Miller (East Coast, US) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Funny story, I was actually reviewing all-in-one printers trying to find one for a friend of mine without any intention of even buying a new printer but when I came across this on CNET, I couldn't help but check it out. The printer got great reviews, I decided to purchase it, so glad I did. I'm running on Windows7, software was very easy to install, very straightforward. Manuals and quickstart manual all easy to understand. The printer's very fast too, took like 2 seconds to print a test page, was very impressed. Not long to print a full size picture either. I also love the card slots and variety of print options it has. It was also a nice downsize as my old Canon MX300 was just too bulky and taking up too much space; this size is just right. The epson scanning software is also nice and basic, with just a click of the button away from scanning. I also love the fact that it has wi-fi as this is my first wi-fi printer. It's really such a convenience to have one less cable laying around. THe USB ports on my laptop already have enough junk hooked up to them. Setting up the wireless connection was also a smooth transition, the manual was super easy to follow. I found no problems with wireless communication from printer to computer. Overall I gotta give this one 5 stars, I've only had it for a week, but I am very impressed and we'll see how long it lasts. Well worth the money guys, I highly recommend it. Go Epson
Draft Mode Is Not Usefull February 22, 2010 HiwayTrader (NY) Draft mode is too light to be of use. My HP printer had the option to set the quality of draft mode but not this epson. Also you won't go long before you need to buy ink - its a guzzler. I see those as serious issues so only 2 stars. Print quality is outstanding though.

Epson Stylus NX515 WiFi Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer (C11CA48231)
I have an Epson Stylus R200 that I love but needed an AIO since over time I am scanning more documents and much easier to direct copy than going computer then print.
I purchased this elsewhere but at same price as current on Amazon of this writing. The huge selling point for me was the wireless abilities and was really looking forward to one less hassle. I researched a bit and many recommended downloading the updated drivers for Windows 7, especially if you run the 64-bit version, so I did so.
Setup was fairly painless and had it printing in no time..........scanning has become another issue. The scan utiliy will not even load unless it ses the printer, I should say the scanner in the printer. Checking everthing the computer sees it fine with no issues but simply refuses to scan wirelessly, must scan to a memory card or be connected via USB which is not practical for my setup. Currently I use a netbook to USB connect to the AIO this replaces and unless I find a way to get this to scan wirelessly looking like I will be doing the same thing which blows but I need the scanner as my current one is reaching a slow death with a weakening sensor.
I could not pass on this price for wireless printing and indeed it does wireless print great but I scan a lot more than I print and half that time I need paper as well as computer copy. I have decided if I find no solution will just buy a cheap SD card and scan to that then extact into the computer as needed.
I have been reading a lot of reviews about the way this drinks ink. ALL Epsons do this and I shall share why. You will use less ink if you can leave it powered on all the time. Everytime an Epson (and many others) is shut down and restarted they run through a startup cycle that "spits" a few ink bursts to clear the nozzle and assure flow. If you use the printer a lot you will get noticably more time from cartridges if you simply never shut the power off. I myself bought a refill kit for my R200 and have saved that way as well. If you go the refill route be sure you get the chip resetter for the cartridge or refilling will be a waste. Also, the chip is set for a certain count of prints so even if there might be a bit of ink remaining the chip tells the printer the cart is dry anyhow. Remember too picture printing affects the projected estimate of prints as well, they use text documents for their print estimates in most cases. I have also read that unlike many printers if the color tanks go dry you can still print with just the blank tank. Time will tell if this is true but is what I have read.
If anyone reading this finds a solution to the scanning issue I would be eager to know and grateful for a comment as to how.
If I find a solution for the wireless scanning problem then this printer will be a 5 star AIO for the price.
Perfect printer for the multiple computer home February 18, 2010 Steve (Fleming Island, FL) This great looking printer arrived a couple of months ago, and I couldn't be happier. I was looking for a wireless solution so that I didn't have to keep one computer on all the time with a shared printer. My household has four computers with both XP and Vista OSs. Setup was a breeze. The directions worked perfectly for each computer, the printer had no problem finding the network, all the software loaded flawlessly, and now everyone in the household can print, scan or copy at any time. The print quality looks outstanding, too. Probably the most amazing thing is the speed. Hit print, race to the printer, and I'll bet it's already sitting on the pullout tray. Another small pro is that the power cord, though a bit short, doesn't have a giant brick. It's just a cord. Only con is that is does seem to use up ink quickly.
If you can be patient, you should be able to find this printer in the $80 to $85 range. Prices for it seem to fluctuate pretty wildly, even on the same web sites. I bought this for my boss for $83 on Newegg four months ago, and found it for myself for $81 around the beginning of December. Amazon has had it everywhere from $80 to $130 over the last few months, so just be patient and find a deal. If it's not there today, it probably will be tomorrow or the next day.
Great printer. So happy I'm finally wireless.
Works well, but only holds small amount of paper February 14, 2010 Feen (PA, USA) I like the features of this handy all-in-one and it works well, but it only holds about a centimeter-width of paper. I can understand that there's less chance of jams if there's not a lot of paper stuffed into the slot, but constant refilling is inconvenient. It also goes thru ink like you wouldn't believe. Other than that.... it works great!
