Love this camera, I got it to film my son. My only regret is that I wish I had gotten it sooner and not wasted my money on a regular Sony handycam. Things to be desired include zoom functionality, but hey, you've always got your legs! Its tough to find the battery strength indicator, not a deal breaker! One thing that is not very clear, but a great feature, is that the battery will charge via the USB. If you use regular alkaline AA batteries, the charge doesnt last very long, so I suggest either charging camera via USB or getting the external charger. Or getting a fast NiMH battery charger with re-chargeable batteries. I picked up a fast charger that recharges the batteries in 20 mins and even has cigarette lighter plug.
The software is excellent, I am easily able to share videos with family and friends. My wife (who is averse to the use of complicated software) even loves it!

OMG!! I love the simplicity of use for the Flip. BUT after buying 3 of these, 1 for me and 2 for my grown daughters, we are all disapponted in how SLOW it is to download the video to your computer and to email. It's been over 1/2 hour and still my 1 video isn't even 1/3 of the way done being downloaded to an email for sending to my daughters. My 2 daughters also have the same complaint with how slow this thing is!!!!! The Flip company should really do something about this problem! I would have given it 5 stars but I can't!
Now - I was offered 2 free accessories when I bought this camera on 12/14/09...Amazon is now charging me for them! It took days of calling them and writing ti them to straighten out THEIR MISTAKE! Finally a manager is helping me out. He agreed to refund me $22.00 plus $40.00 for the inconvenience too! Finally good customer service that I have come to rely on with Amazon! It just took a while to get someone to understand what they did wrong!

I got exactly what was to be expected, from the way it was described on the flip website and by professionls in the industry, so I am extremely happy. It's so fun and easy to use, my 3 yr old neice has already demonstrated that she can record, play back and delete. The battery life however really surprised me. I was only able to record a little over an hour of footage before I had to switch the batteries out, good thing I purchased a second battery pack, which I highly recommend everyone who is in the market for one of these bad boys do.

The image quality is great. Size, great. Low light, great. Battery life, good enough. Ease of use - couldn't be easier.
I love the thing. Two fairly huge gripes: One: the usb, er, appendage sticking out of the thing makes no sense. Why not give us a cable and a mini-usb port on the device instead of something that can be broken off extremely easily? Two: S-H-A-K-Y_V-I-D-E-O. You will NEED, NEED, NEED some video software that will do stabilization. Power Directer 8 is highly recommended. Oh, three: the included software is pathetic, super, extremely pathetic; it's not meant for "editing", it's basically intended for uploading your shaky video to the web.
Nit picks: poor battery life indication, awkward to hold while using, no USB cable included, would be nice to be able to cover the lense somehow, a microphone jack would be nice.
If you can't afford some video software that will do picture stabilization, the get some duct tape and strap the thing to a brick so it won't shake as much. And by the way, that really will work. Alternatively, mount it to a heavy tripod and carry it around on the tripod.
