Shout, Shoot and Carry On. February 16, 2010 Lou C. Germain (Kenmore, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
a point and shoot camera right out of the box. Needed something quick for travel and vacation snapshots. Old camera broke and this was a reasonable replacement. Picture quality is good. Used some shots in close up mode for art painting reference- clear and nice detail. Upon unwrapping, I placed my own long lasting batteries and big SD card into camera. Sturdy strap -so I won't break this one. Since bulk and weight now count for travel, this could be a little thinner-- but I can always find it in my carry-on (taks a small case) Using flash in auto mode is easy and automatic for low light. I am left handed so the buttons always seem to be in the wrong place- but easy to adapt. Now to read the manual-- I'll find out all the things it can do!! I am shouting that the pictures came out with such clarity in bright sunlight!

My wife loves this camera I bought it for her as a Christmas gift and she is very impressed with the picture quality and the ease of operating the camera. My wife is not the easiest to please at times and she has no complaints about this camera, thank goodness.lol Amazon shipped the item right away I never had any problems with shipping or anything else an overall great experience. And another thing paid no taxes and shipping was free how can you beat that, way to go Amazon.
A great camera for most pocket applications. February 14, 2010 Twistedwankel (FL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Got this camera on sale at Hhgregg for only $80. The features and size exceeded requirements for what I was looking for to replace my old (fading yellow flash) Fugi 4mp 3X zoom for a quality pocket camera using AA batteries. I have a 10X zoom kodak for vacation "great pictures and videos and long life battery" but it's too bulky to take on social occasions. And I don't own a camera cell phone. Wasn't thrilled to see the L20 Coolpix was made in China but what isn't anymore? The Nikon has a few "have to learn" features to finally get it right and isn't really intuitive for a 63 year old who is way behind on the electronic learning curve. Once I learned that in "easy auto mode" one has to push the shutter button 1/2 way (like my old camera)to lock in the pix before taking it all was well. Also once one plays with the multitude of advanced features and editing capability it becomes somewhat amazing using the enlarged screen. It would be nice if there was a viewer but even in the bright FL sun I can still make out the objects I'm trying to photo. I had one issue where I thought the batteries went dead without the logo warning and replaced them only to have it happen again so was ready to return L20 to store. Upon closer inspection the battery/memory door is tricky (must use slight force down and sideways) to get closed properly and can otherwise be ajar making it lose power without any warning while off. Once that problem was solved I have become very attached to this little gem. The ruby red color grows on you too. Like I said a little gem.
Great Camera February 14, 2010 Dee 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this camera as a gift for my bf and he absolutely loves it. The picture quality is great and I love the wide screen on the back, it is very easy to use, we only had to look in the manual once (to see how to crop pics on the camera). It has great features. I would reccommend this camera to anyone.
