Digital Convertor Box November 17, 2009 John W. Yu I bought the box for it advertised that it can convert any digital signal into analogue. However, when I received the box and hook it up to my TV, it just can't detect any of my TV channels. I read the manual and there it mentioned that the box is only good for certain type of digital frequencies. That's the reason why and I have to return it. Amazon was great and immediately gave me a full refund but asked me to dispose the box instead of sending it back.
Works good; brings in good picture November 16, 2009 Glenn in Atlanta (Metro Atlanta) This converter is for a small analog TV in our RV. The first converter purchased early this year worked for only a few months, then died. This new one was purchased to replace it. Was easy to install and works to bring in several stations; probably as good as we'll ever get with the small roof-top antenna provided on RVs.
Was pleased with the quality and the price.
TV digital box November 16, 2009 Michele Nickerson The box was easy to install. It is a nice small size. I only get about six stations. For the most part the stations come in good. I probably need a better antenna.
So-So Product November 15, 2009 H. T. Milhorn III (Meridian, MS USA) I got this product to get my analog VCR to tape my shows. It was a nightmare to install. The manual said nothing about hooking up VCRs so I had to figure it out. In this case, be prepared to spend hours trying to install it. When I finally got it to work, the picture did not fill up the screen. Be prepared to lose about 3-6 inches of viewability. The remote was a cheapie so I hated having to use it. When the product arrived, the product had a big dent in it and the store says no returns so I was stuck with a product I hated that I ended up not using. I was frustrated because I felt like I blew $50 for nothing. The box and remote ended up in storage. I'm going to have to sell it at a garage sale or donate it to Goodwill. I ended up buying a Toshiba DVR that was incredibly easy to use. I wish I had gotten the DVR in the first place instead of this lousy box.
Good Enough November 13, 2009 Mark Eich This unit was purchased in an attempt to improve on the reception of a 1.5 year old digitally ready HDTV. The tv's built-in receiver had marginal reception, regardless of the antennas I had tried. After reading advice that stated "the newer the receiver, the better" I gave this unit a try based on good reviews. Overall, it's a suitable unit and delivers the goods. The one thing I do not like is that the picture size is natively smaller than the built-in receiver of the tv. I say 'native' because it's possible to zoom the picture and have it fill the tv screen, but you lose some resolution. But the reception is great, we now recieve all of the possible broadcasted channels - regardless of weather conditions.
