5 out of 5 stars My Favorite Calculator   May 25, 2009
Markcizm (Santa Monica, California United States)
I will not add to the many long-winded reviews already here. Let me just say that this is my favorite calculator & to me, "perfection". I use it with RPN mode & my girlfriend uses hers strictly in algebraic, so it functions perfectly fine either way. I have tried most of the higher end Scientific and Graphing calculators on the market & this one beats all of them for me. I love the feel, the size, the keys, the sturdy case and ease of use.

In fact, I liked this calculator so much that I purchased the HP-50g because I thought it would be even better. While it is, of course, a much more powerful machine with endless features, I prefer the 35s and I rarely even use the 50g.

I would recommend this calculator to anyone, as I think it is versatile enough to please most people (I used TI calculatos my entire life and now I will never use anything but HP...who would have thought).

My only concern is that HP will stop production on this and screw it up with their next model, which is what I hear they did with the 33s. So I've been debating for a few months on whether or not I should purchase 2 or 3 more of these and keep them away in case mine ever dies.

4 out of 5 stars HP35S isn't an HP35   May 6, 2009

I'm a long time HP user with 2 HP 35 a 45 and the 67. The HP 67 is my favorite.

With the 35S, changed the way the original HP35 worked as some functions are reversed. The 35, 45 and 67 all work the same but the 35S is backwards. I'll probably stay with the 67 as it is just easier to use.

4 out of 5 stars Good Basic HP with RPN   May 4, 2009

My previous "work" calculator (an HP48GX) final died after 18 years of use. I still have an HP41CV at home that I've owned for over 22 years.

I bought this HP35S as a replacement work calculator. It has the traditional feel and operation of the other HPs I've owned. It features all the normal scientific functions one would expect. The only down side with this calculator is the available unit conversions are more limited than the HP48.

I don't use the programming features at all, as I prefer to use the computer for anything complex. One of the higher end HPs with a large graphics screen would be better for any serious programming.

Overall I'm quite pleased with this unit, and feel it's a very good value. For those that are accustomed to using HP RPN calculators, this HP35 is is a fine basic scientific calculator.

5 out of 5 stars HP 35s Calculator excellent   April 28, 2009

This calculator is only the third that I have bought since 1980. It is a testament to the quality that HP has always brought to its calculators. It is easy to use and very similar to the HP 42s which is the last caculator I bought 18 years ago. I don't need a calculator to program, since I have a computer for that. I need a calculator that is easy to use and dependable. This calculator can also be used for the Texas P. E. examination. Great value and a very good product.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT CALCULATOR   April 20, 2009

I particularly like the fact that HP has provided an option to switch from Reverse Polish to conventional mode. I do not change back, but it's good to be able to provide a clue to that perplexed someone.
Thanks loads, HP!
