Too Big for Seagate FreeAgent Go October 19, 2009 G. Townsend The case is nice enough, for a drive which might actually fit in it. But way too big for my Seagate FreeAgent Go 500. The elastic strap doesn't even stretch when the drive is in place, and the drive is free to slide around and bounce against the edges. Which probably is worse for the drive then just throwing it in the average bag.
I do use it, but I cut a padded envelope in half and wrap the drive in it first, then the drive is truly protected. It's a hassle though, and I'd really like to find a case which actually protected the drive properly and still was easy to take in and out.
Note that this case is not actually padded. It has a semi-rigid shell, which along with some actual padding around the drive would be great. But you'll have to supply your own cushioning (assuming your drive is small enough, like the FreeAgent Go).
Use with Iomega Ego portable drives October 15, 2009 LarryAOL (Naperville, IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have two of these cases for the current tapered Ego drive and the older flask-shaped drives. Each fits well with a cable in the mesh pocket. (Note: the portable 2.5-inch drives, not the 3.5-inch desktop drives.)
Functional October 8, 2009 A. Beltran This is the second one I purchase...
Keeps my external drive safe... It's nice and small...
I love this case... It serves its purpose.
Great case October 3, 2009 Brian Park Fits my WD Passport hard drive well - there's actually a little room to spare. Giving it 4 stars only because it makes my super sleek hard drive just a little bit more bulky, but the protection is great and necessary. Of the cases that I've seen though, I think it looks the best while still maintaining good functionality
Not truly a hard shell case October 1, 2009 R. Struk (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product advertises itself as a hard shell case. It is not. While it is more rigid than a simple pouch, it certainly is not crush proof (i.e., like a hard plastic or Lexan). Rather, it feels as if it is constructed of a fairly flexible plastic, covered by a ballistic nylon. I can easily compress the case, to the extent of making contact with the enclosed hard drive, using minimal finger pressure. On the plus side, it is stylish, and has a convenient mesh pouch for cables. However, if you're looking for something sturdy that you can jam into an already overstuffed briefcase without worry, this isn't it.
