working as FM transmitter but doesn't charge ipod nano 4th generation November 15, 2009 LA cat (LA, USA) About the seller:
i bought this from ShopCell listed on Amazon. the ship is fast, but the unit looks like a second handed one. it came with no package, it's just in a plastic bag with one page paper of manual. the back surface is also worn out. Won't buy it from this seller anymore.
About the unit:
I don't know whether it's a authentic griffin unit since it came without any package. i tried all methods but couldn't choose between LX and DX modes.
the sound quality depends on your car. i am in los angeles and have a 97 altima and the antenna is on the back. i only found good reception at 101.5MHz without much statics. however, my cd player with FM reception(ten meters away from the transmitter) gives much better sound quality.
later on i checked the signal of the transmitter with a test equipment. first, in los angeles(pasadena) there are three frequencies without strong radio signals. they are around 89MHz, 93Mhz,101MHz. you should try one of these frequencies.
Second, this FM transmitter doesn't emit strong signals, i found it's weaker than many of the local radio station signals picked by the test equipment. But if you use a long wire, wind one side on the car antenna, and wind the other side around the itrip FM transmitter, the reception and sound quality will be boosted significantly. Hope this is helpful, but DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Another thing is, it doesn't charge ipod nano 4 generation. look for the newest griffin products if you haveipod nano 4, 5g.
Griffin iTrip Auto FM Transmitter November 15, 2009 A. Vesely (Las Cruces, NM) Decent quality. Purchased for myself, my cousin, and my mother for gifts. Makes long car rides much more enjoyable!

This is a very good product for your car and at a very reasonable price. I bought one for myself and then bought another one for a friend.
Decent transmiter for $10 November 13, 2009 Michael Gajeski I got this for my wife so she could listen to her ipod on the go. Its easy to use and works well when put into the international mode and set to 87.9 fm. My only complaint is that the stereo has to be turned WAY up to listen at a decent level. Its a minor one, but a complaint nonetheless. I would definitely recommend this transmitter though for its ease of use.
better than the monster one November 13, 2009 Alaina (Pittsburgh, PA United States) My boyfriend recently bought the monster fm transmitter for his car. I prefer this one because it's not as bulbous and the buttons are flat against the product so they don't bump against other objects and change the station. I also like that it's not as flashy and looks innocuous in my car; like a regular cell phone charger. I believe the reception is comparable to the other product.
