Nice calculator March 13, 2006 P. Muzumdar (Michigan) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this since I have an engineering background and am not used to the Postfix notation used in the HP 12C that I have also tried. I have always used Casio scientific calculators, so it is nice that it's more like a "normal" calculator, and that makes it faster to use at least for me. I haven't used any other financial calculators.
This is a nice calculator. The construction of the HP is better however, from a "key feel" standpoint, but it was also made in the early nineties. You know what they say, "they just don't make them like they used to". Even so, there's nothing wrong with the way this one is built.
I haven't used it for Bond math yet, but at least for annuities, it's easier to switch back and forth from END to BEGIN mode in the HP. So that's a minor drawback. Other financial functions seem to take the same number of keystrokes. But basic CF functions compute faster in this one, especially the IRR and the NPV functions.
Another thing that's nice in discounted cash flow calculations is that the display says what the variable is, so for example it says, "N = ..." or "I/Y = ...". Helps you keep track of your inputs when you're in a rush.
Best Calculator I Have Ever Used! March 6, 2006 G. Lira (Boca Raton, FL USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
First off, this is the easiest calculator to use! Has so many functions for the finance or real estate industry that I am in. I find the buttons easiest to press than any other calculator I have ever used. Very thin and easily portable. The only flaw is the soft case that it comes with, fits a bit too tight to the calculator making it harder to put in and take out. It justs takes time getting used to which I have now mastered. Have it now for a few days and I love it!
Overall, I am very impressed with this calculator and I highly recommend it!!!

Great looks but not very fast February 24, 2006 Volkan Demirkaya (Irvine, CA, USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I think this calculator looks great. The silver color makes it look fancy and modern. I didin't have any problems at all. The only concern that I might have is the difficulty to pust the buttons when you try to work fast. It's a bit hard to push and takes time compared to other easy going calculators. But in overall I'm happy with my product. I'd prefer it to HP 10 and 12C for sure.
A real find February 23, 2006 Puck (Minneapolis, MN USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
As a real estate broker, I use the calculator quite a bit to calculate various aspects of transactions. It is nice to have the best looking calculator in the conference room, but even better to have one that is easy to use and on which it is difficult to make mistakes. I don't get all the fuss about the "stiffness" of the buttons - it is not like you work up a sweat pushing them, and I appreciate 'knowing' when I have pressed it because I can feel it. This is a superb calculator and for TVM, business, and finance, it is well worth the money.
