Perfect for an MBA student October 23, 2009 AS_Mpls (Minneapolis) This calculator is perfect for an MBA student. Compared to a similar HP model, this can also do amortization schedules. This should work for all classes you will ever take unless you go for higher level finance classes. It also has 2 modes - algebriac and RPN, most useful for me who is used to algebriac mode. The number of decimal places can also be adjusted on the fly and is heavy on Stats too. Changing the battery requires you to open the entire bottom case (what were they thinking!). However, you will need to do this once a couple of years. I replaced the battery right away just to see how difficult it would be. Not so bad but you cannot do this in an exam hall. watch for the soldered leads to the battery as well. Display is small and the cover is flimsy but I have thrown it around and still seems to work fine. Overall, works for almost all classes you would take for an MBA.
AMAZING October 23, 2009 solarian (miami,FL) amazing, the first financial calculator i have used and it was supppper fast and easy to learn btw its IDENTICAL to the proffesional one exept that this one is not silver its less proff looking hehe but its exact same keys, it brings a key card to carry always with so you remember the important keys WORTH THE BUY!.
Impressive and also Enfuriating October 17, 2009 Puffer Red (California, USA) It's great that there is a $27 calculator which can do pretty much any financial calculation you need, and do it faster than the HP 12c, AND it is algebraic to be more compatible with the plebians, AND it is allowed on the CFA exam. BUT, if you use this for any extended time (i.e. if you need it for anything more than a single semester), I recommend getting either the better-feeling but identical BA II Plus Pro for $45, or the Darth Vader HP 12C. The cheapness and bad display and stupid cardboard tipsheet of the standard BA II Plus will drive you mad. If you are intimidated by RPN on the 12c, get the Platinum edition which offers both algebraic and Polish options.
Great for finance October 13, 2009 D. O'Donnell Satisfied with the calculator. I use it for my finance class and it has been very useful. The price is much better than a TI-83
