Improve you confident June 23, 2009 High Volume Cell (Keene, NH) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
TJ Walker's Secret to Foolproof Presentations
If you want to develop your confidence in making a presentation, then this is the book you want to read. When I started reading it, I just cannot put it down, I have to finish reading the whole book. Far from boring, it's very interesting because you'll feel as if the author talks to you in person and knows what you need to be a better presenter.
Powerpoint must June 23, 2009 Jeffrie G. Caves (Boise,Idaho) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Some of the things covered on power point I had thought or heard, TJ confirmed it. A must have for sales people who want to improve and move away from paper handouts. Easy read and very practical.
A Must Have! April 27, 2009 A. Freling (Buffalo, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Mr. Walker breaks down the ins and outs of presentations. After reading his book, I feel I am better prepared to address people in a public setting. I never knew just how much goes into the delivery of a message.
"TJ Walker's Secret to Foolproof Presentations" is an invaluable resource for anyone. I have and will continue to recommend this book. It is both informative and interesting.
A must have resource! April 20, 2009 Reader Views (Austin, Texas) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful

I had a big resounding "yes" when I read "...the reason most presenters fall flat is because they are focused on what they want to say and how they want to say it. Presenters rarely stop to consider what the audience wants to hear or how the audience wants the message delivered." I've gone to so many presentations that totally bored me and because of that, as a presenter myself I am very aware of what TJ Walker, in "TJ Walker's Secrets to Foolproof Presentations" is discussing.
Written like the author is talking directly to the reader (actually, the flap says: A $10,000 Speaking Workshop for $19.95) this concise, user-friendly book delivers everything a presenter needs to know. Walker, with more than twenty-five years of experience as speaker and presentation coach, offers key points on how to prepare for your presentation (e.g. video yourself first), how to create your presentation (e.g. using humor), how to decide whether or not to use PowerPoint or other visuals, as well as how to deliver your presentation. He also has a "troubleshooting" section and covers areas such as what to do if you forget what you were going to say and how to get rid of the "ums."
"TJ Walker's Secret to Foolproof Presentation" by TJ Walker is a must-have resource for any person wanting to break into the speaker/presenter venue, as well as for anyone already in the industry. I'm one of the "already in the industry" and learned so much from just reviewing this book. I look forward to implementing new techniques or changing ones that truly didn't work for my audience. Walker's tips and techniques give concrete and direct tools for success, no doubt about it.
If you buy only one book on presenting, this is the one to get! April 20, 2009 Bruce D. Weinstein 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is without equal. There are so many useful tips and suggestions, it would be impossible to list them all here, but TJ's advice to tell stories, and to avoid using text in one's PowerPoint slides, will help you go from good to great in your presentations. After you read this book, you should sign up for one of TJ Walker and Jess Todtfeld's seminars.
Miles Davis and Vladimir Horowitz practiced for hours each day up until the end of their lives. No matter how skilled you believe you are, there is always room for improvement, and if you follow the wise counsel in this book, your effectiveness as a communicator will skyrocket.
I can't recommend this book highly enough! Thank you, TJ.
