Boost your visual skills and communicate better August 21, 2009 Scott S, Bell (Elk Grove California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I almost did not buy this book after reading a few of the reviews. I am so glad that I bought this book.
It is not effective to just talk to people or clients; you have to engage them in other ways especially in the visual aspect. Even if you think you know everything about telling a story or conveying a message you can still learn more. This book will help you if you are a novice or an expert you will find something in here for you.
Your challenge is to find something new that you can use for your business or you communication skills. Try to find something that is different than what you have every done. This will help you push your skills.
If you work with a single person or a group this will help you gain some problem solving skills. You will also gain a different perspective on problem solving skills and becoming more effective at decision making skills.
The book is written in a format that makes it so easy to learn and there is something to take away from every chapter.
Paradigm Shift July 28, 2009 Rebecca Stockley (San Francisco) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed the journey from my assumptions about this content - to some real learning. It has had an effect on the way I converse with people... I'm sharing my doodles and it is kinda cool. I expect that if I continue - it will simplify a lot of my communications. I could have drawn THIS review and you'd have gotten the message so much more completely and quickly.
Kindle DX Optimized? I think not. July 20, 2009 Mark N. Boszko (Gaithersburg, MD USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The content of the book itself is pretty great. However, it does not seem to be truly optimized for the Kindle DX, as advertised, as many diagrams are too small and of too low resolution to be read clearly, which greatly detracts from the experience. Even if you zoom in to the image on the kindle, it looks blocky and small text is unreadable.
So, 5 stars for the contest, minus two because it's not "DX optimized" as stated.
Spurred new ideas, new visual thinking July 2, 2009 xThinker (Boston, MA, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
An excellent guide to thinking visually and unleashing your visual creativity. Inside of a few hours, it helped me think of new ideas, new visualizations, and new ways of communicating. What more could I have asked of a book?
Excellent book June 26, 2009 Ivan Pepelnjak (Slovenia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was pretty good with "napkin pictures", but this book gave me a lot of new ideas and a structured framework to use. Highly recommended for anyone who has to organize/present his thoughts or findings.
