Best guide out there!! November 12, 2007 C. Orr (Loveland, CO) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've read quite a few books on bipolar trying to find something that could really help me control and recognize my symptoms. I have to say this has really been the only book that has been able to give me that. It really helped me to be able to work through the various exersizes. I came out of the whole thing with a much better understanding of myself and my illness. I really feel that this is a book that everyone diagnosed with bipolar should own!
Bipolar Disorder November 8, 2007 Kathi (Upper Penninsula Mich.) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the first book about the disorder I've read where I thought the author really knew what he was talking about. I've learned that some of things that have bothered me are actually quite normal for people with this disease. I highly recommend it for family and friends also.
a must have for all with bipolar October 6, 2007 Kristina Mcwhorter 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book is packed with very helpful information for both the person with the disorder and the family members. Excellent coverage of not only what bipolar is, but the what bipolar looks like to you, your doctor and your family is wonderful. I know people thought I was just being extravagant, but now, reading this, they know I couldn't stop myself, and that at the time, it made perfect sense to me.
Insightful and in plain English for those of us without medical degrees, this book has helped both me and my family in numerous ways. I hope everyone with bipolar disorder gets their hands on a copy and studies it with family and friends, it truly is a great resource.
Not the Best August 27, 2007 A. Nelson (Utah) 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
Not the best bipolar book out there. You need the most current information. Taming Bipolar, by Psychology Today was more resourceful.
Psychology Today: Taming Bipolar Disorder Still, there are other bipolar books more current than this one.
Also, Why Am I Still Depressed? Recognizing and Managing the Ups and Downs of Bipolar II and Soft Bipolar Disorder is absolutely wonderful for understanding Mood Spectrum Disorders.
