The truth's and glenn beck November 3, 2009 Jaclyn Cyphert 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am thankful for people such as Glenn Beck who will take a stand and tell "the other side of the story" - giving us the opportunity to see for ourselves where the actual truth's lie. and where the lies, lie.
I encourage others to read his books - for good, common-sense reading.
Common Sense November 2, 2009 Robert W. Roth Sr. (MI USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Common Sense is a very timely book which high lights so much of what is wrong with our government. Our founding fathers gave us a perfect blue print for our nation's government, based on freedom, liberty, and a limited Federal government. This book is a modern-day version of Thomas Paine's book, which inspired so many to fight the revolutionary war. Kudos to Glenn Beck on a excellent book, with an easy to read format.
To the Heart... November 1, 2009 Summitman (Lincoln, NE) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you're looking for a book that gives some plain-talking insight into the erosions of our nations rights as our framers intended, this book will certainly make a compelling statement.
The first part of the book gives Glenn Beck's take on the state of our nation. However, the final pages are the reserved for Thomas Paines Common Sense Pamphlet of 1776'. Very insightful, and is incredibly timeless. It illustrates the depth of wisdom of our founding fathers, and the reasoning behind all that our Declaration of Independence emcompassed, and the eventual wisdom that produced the Constitution.
So, if you're looking for a quick easy read that will give some insight into what many conservatives are up in arms about, this book will provide some real fodder.
Required reading in my opinion November 1, 2009 Kenneth Soraghan (USA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book is a great reference and insight into the most important issues of the day. Learn the truth about what's going on, and what's more important than that, learn WHY it's going on (not the reasons you hear on sound bites from the news or on bumper stickers - the REAL reasons and motives).
This book is similar to another of my favorites, "Liberty and Tyranny" from Mark Levin Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto. If you like one, you'll like the other. One other thing: included at the end of this book, Beck includes a copy of his inspiration for this book, Thomas Paine's original "Common Sense", as well as information about Beck's 9/12 Project.
Glenn Beck's Common Sense November 1, 2009 Wesley P. Wheeler 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
He hits it out of the park. We as Americans all over this country are experiencing very like type experiences. I say that knowing that like politics, you have that 20% on the opposite end of the spectrum that are not believe any of that, and can never be convinced otherwise.
He offers examples that frustrate you, sadden you, and also give you hope without the audacity (LOL).
Great price and read!
