Valerie Bertinelli's book "Finding It" December 8, 2009 J. H. Fitzgerald (ENCINITAS, CA, US) 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
My step-daughter wrote the original review for this, she bought the book for her mother using my account.. I feel ashamed that I allowed her to do this unsupervised, although she is normally very net savvy. I feel ashamed because I shared with her a few responses to reviews I had received. Unfortunately, there were a few nasty responses to her "review" of this book. After reading her review I have to agree, it was not very helpful and considering she had not read the book, not a fair review, but still not bad enough to have some of the hurtful & nasty remarks some people (PenName) left that made her cry for 15 minutes!
Once I clarified the issue with her, she let me know that she misunderstood what the review was for, and thought the review was to be based on how easy the transaction went.
Since Christmas, her mother has read about a 1/4 of the book and says that she enjoys reading Valerie's tips to weight loss and enjoys the fact that besides having fame & money, Valerie's life is rather similar to the rest of us "real" people, riddled with many of the same day-to-day choices we all have to suffer through.
BORING November 30, 2009 Donna J. Rozensky (Tulsa, OK) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
Do not waste your money on this book as it is not a weight loss book, but a bunch of bs just to make money for the author.

I was excited to get the book as I was impressed with her first. However, my excitement quickly turned to disdain with all the discussions about Wolfie's love life and her political commentary. If I wanted another book bashing Bush and Cheney I would have made another selection. Right now, I won't buy anything (including J. Craig) that has Valerie's name on it.
Her story will be mine! November 28, 2009 V. Bluhm (Iowa) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had to wait to purchase this book as I live in the middle of nowhere! Once I bought it, though, I could NOT put it down! I could hear her and Tom having the same conversations as my husband and I do. I found so much inspiration for not only weight loss but physical and mental improvement!
I am having my twenty something daughters read BOTH books! Oh, by the way, I'm on my second read!
BUY THIS BOOK!

I admire Valerie on her weight loss and greatly enjoyed her first book. I was looking forward to reading this book and was VERY disappointed.I found her VERY annoying and I can no longer identify with her. She is NOT your typical ordinary person trying to lose weight. She has help & resources that regular people do not have. She has Jenny Craig meals & snacks(which most people can't afford)a personal trainer (again not within most people's budgets) and TIME, that people who work regular jobs & raise families do not have. She has "time" to workout for long stretches of time, realistically most are lucky to get an hour in. Her only child is grown and she doesn't have to cook if she doesn't want to. She had a trainer to keep her on her toes. And the use of some device (bodybug) that kept track of her calories and food eaten. I mean MOST people do not have these things. She says her body is "ATTAINABLE"! NO IT ISN'T. Maybe it's attainable to everyone who has the resources, help and time that she has. This book was a huge disappointment. I forced myself to finish it so that I didn't waste my money. This book had way too much talk about her boyfriend and politics. It was interesting to hear about Wolfie, but even that was excessive. I am sorry I just can't relate to her and cannot recommend this book to others. Valerie you are down to earth and kudos on your weight loss, but this book wasn't good.
