5 out of 5 stars Impressive...   October 19, 2009

Ivanka's first foray into writing is interesting, well-written, and inspiring. The author demonstrates remarkable maturity while imparting thoughtful insights, including a most important lesson on the importance of experience and hard work. Don't dismiss this book or play to the stereotypes other reviewers may have associated with Ms. Trump's name or background. With a winning combination of practical advice and wit, Ivanka shows she is a savvy business woman. A worthwhile read for anyone entering into the business world...

5 out of 5 stars THE NEXT GENERATION OF TRUMP. A BOOK THAT ANY PARENT CAN BE PROUD OF, AND ANY SIBLING CAN USE AS A PATH TO SUCCESS.   October 17, 2009

I saw Ms Trump graciously mention her book on the Fox And Friends show and thought, interesting, her dress length is just below the knee, I wonder if the book is 'G' rated too. After a read, I found it to be a book that any parent can be proud of, and any sibling can use as a path to success. And in my view, it was 'G' rated. As far as the content is concerned, I found it to be thoughtful, encouraging, enduring, and the points on work decorum, developing and marketing a product, plus negotiating were the best. For more info on Teams, you may want to read books by, or about, Dr.W.Edwards Deming, of which its resources would have made the project outcomes much better on the Apprentice show . But even though you have the job, are smart, have money, family influence, graduate from the best Univesity, does not put you on top of your game. In addition, try 10,000 hours of perserverance, as pointed out in the book, Outliers. And I think Ivanka has the mantle to make it. I was surprised that the book wasn't displayed at the front of the book store, in the New Non-Fiction section. But tucked away in the Business section on a lower shelf, which took me a few minutes to find it. Although, I did rearrange the books on the shelf so that the front cover would be prominently shown, as I do with other books that I like, and you should too. I also think that the book has a more general appeal then presented, and should be offered in the Young Adult section, and the Career Advice section of the store as well. Thus, giving it a bigger audiance. So beginning with this book as my introduction to her, I now look forward to hear great and wonderful things about Ms Trumps life and career challanges that lies ahead. A film offering perhaps, hopefully produced in MI. By the way, the concern was brought to the attention of the Corporate Office of the book store chain, and the book is now placed in the New Non-Fiction section in front of the store. Coincidence? Finally, if you want to know why Ivanka wanted a new bathing suit, and Tiffany wanted a bump up in her allowance when they were in their teens, read the book, Gen BuY, for the answer.

To borrow a phrase, Ivanka was born on third base and thought she hit a triple, so she wrote a book on how to succeed in baseball.

The Trump Card was an inspiring book to young professionals who are already in the work place or who are trying to create their path into the workplace. Ivanka, acknowledges that she was born into privelage, but it is what you decide to do with that privelage that matters. She urges you to step out on a limb and find out what you are passionate about doing and to go for it. Especially in this tough economic time in this world, she offers some refreshing advice for how to keep your head above water and really find your own way. I truely enjoyed her words of wisdom and almost felt as if she was my older sister giving me her advice about what she has done thus far, would like to do in the future and offering tips to help me better my career and life.

Ivanka's guide to success: Be born rich. Get your father to name you VP in his company. Marry a guy who was also born rich and has bought everything in his life (including admission to Harvard) with his family money. Write a book pretending you're where you are because of merit, not nepotism. Get media coverage because of your name. Get suckers to buy the book.
