5 out of 5 stars The book to have for learning about reversing the Liberal's plans   October 31, 2009

This book is vital for all who want the freedoms our founding fathers bestowed upon us. I am an African-American, and what they taught us in school was insufficient. Today, it is FAR worse than I imagined.

This is THE book to read, and to learn about how our current government is robbing us of our rights.

This book has really educated me in a way public school never has. I now know more about my rights as an individual than ever before. Moreover, this book is filled with historical facts and details which can be utilized to articulate my views effectively to others. It literally is a field manual to successfully engaging and debating the 'st

You can exchange the words "conservative" and "statist" for "christian" and "atheist" respectively and it will read just as it should; a religious doctrine based on personal beliefs on faith in God (Christianity specifically) and free markets and not on reality.

Levin has an obvious hatred and bigoted opinion towards the left, statist, socialists, democrats and anybody who doesn't 1. believe in god 2. side with ultra conservatism 3. believe in free trade. My impression of Levin's opinions is that all would just turn peachy if we follow these basic rules.

Moreover, he likes to lump everybody up into two big groups and point his little finger at them. He seeks to polarize America in this book and shame on him for doing so. Do you really expect everybody to believe the way you do? Do you really believe one party is better than the other? Both parties are full of it and so are you. You're hatred and fear is obvious. Hey, maybe you can become the next Darth Vader! At least we could take you more seriously in Darth Vader gear instead of your current humdrum appearance.

Lastly, the book takes an alarmist tone. More of the "us against them" and "if we dont act now, all will be lost". According to Levin we have been in a downward spiral since FDR. I could have sworn we have had some pretty conservative presidents in office between then and now. But oh no... its a conspiracy to keep good conservatives from truly governing. Its the media, hollywood, its those statist again.

I listened to the audio book. which is comical in a way. The narrator gets all serious when he says the word "Statist" just like he were saying satan, communist, devil, atheist in a church sermon. You shoulda been a preacher Levin.

Concise, to the point, and a lesson for all who want to understand how America became the enviable nation that it is. Retaining that fundamental structure is the message.

This was a gift for my father. He's not usually a reader, but he listens to Mark Levin on the radio and he just flew through this book! I highly recommend this book!
