Great! August 17, 2009 Nickie Snyder (Ferndale, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was a great review book and i love how many practice questions it came with. The CD-rom is really good and has several modes for studying. Highly reccomend it.
Excellent resource/textbook! August 10, 2009 C. Grice (Brandon, MS) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did not purchase this book as a review for the NCLEX, but rather as a comprehensive resource guide. I am entering my second semester in nursing school and wanted a book that was concise, to-the-point, and easy to read to supplement my class reading assignments. Though I managed to pull an "A" my first semester, by the end of it I was really struggling to keep up w/ all of the reading. I am hoping that I can cross-reference this book w/ my class lectures and maybe cut down on some of my load. I was especially encouraged by one review that stated that this book was such a good review that she actually stopped purchasing her nursing textbooks. While I don't think I would ever do that, I am very excited to see how it works for me next semester! I have been studying it this summer and, so far, everything I have learned is in here.....but w/out all of the extraneous info and wording. It's only taken me a couple of weeks to read all of the info in this book that I covered all last semester! As previously stated, I am not sure if this is the book for you if you are just trying to pass the NCLEX....it may or it may not be, I am not yet far enough along in school to determine; but I DO KNOW that this is an excellent textbook supplement and well worth having! I am definitely pleased w/ my purchase and have been recommending it to all of my friends.
Not helpful August 7, 2009 J. O'Connor (Round Rock TX) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have found more than one confusing and misleading item in this book. For example- on page 430, Practice Question #1, the answer is "crusting", yet you go back and look in the content of that chapter and not one time do they describe skin in an elderly patient as "crusting". Further, not once have I heard this term throughout my education. Im definitely going to be using a different NCLEX book to prepare for my exam.
This is the best book for International Nurses August 2, 2009 Ana Maria Quelopana (KY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm an international graduated nurse, and I didn't know how to prepare for the NCLEX when I got in US. When I reviewed the nurses opinion related to this book in Amazon's web page I decided to buy it, and I followed the instruction about how to study that are recommended in the book... after 8 weeks I took the NCLEX test and I passed the first time. This is wonderful and I know that I accomplished this goal because I did study several hours for those 8 weeks and because I had the BEST book that I could get to successful complete the NCLEX Examination.
